The A.C. W. of St. Pauls Angli-
can Church met • on Thursday at
the home of Mrs. R. H. Middleton.
President,' Mrs. Scrabuik, opened
the meeting with the members
prayer. "For the beauty of the
earth" was sung and devotions
from the Living Message followed
with Mrs. F.Forrest reading
the 92nd Psalm, Mrs. Anderson
offering prayer and Mrs. "W.
Scrabuik the litany. It was de-
cided to have a bake sale and
auction in October. Mrs. Annie
Reid gave the Bible study on
"Loneliness" and the roll call
was answered with a Bible verse
having a kind of food in it. Mrs.
Windover was instructed to
send the used Christmas cards to
the retarded children in London.
Mrs. G.A.Anderson closed the
meeting with prayer.
THOMSON REUNION '
The 33rd Thomson reunion
was held Sunday in the Mitchell
Park with 50 in attendance. Af-
ter a smorgasbord dinner, Pres-
ident Pearl Preistap presided
for a short business meeting when,
officers for next years picnic
were elected. ,,They were Pres-
ident, Hannah Miller, Vice-P res.
Dorothy Chase, Secretary-Trea-
surer, Mary Parsons, Table.
Committee, Roy Pepper, Russel
and Marian Hooey, Sports
Comfnittee- Lloyd and Helen
Thompson, Len and Gwen O'-
Rourke. A sports program for
the children was conducted by.
Cecil and Joyce Pepper. Win-
ners are as follows- Slow motion

Laurie Pepper: Throw the fris-
bee race - Joanne Vorstenbosch,
Brenda Pepper: Boys backwards
race - David O'Rourke, Bert
Vorstenbosch Jr.; Girls chew-

ey. A peanut and candy scramble
were enjoyed by the children.
The youngest child present was
Elizabeth Thompson, -10 month
old daughter of Lloyd and Helen
Thompson.
After much discussion It was
agreed to hold a Thomson re-
union again next year on the
3rd Sunday of July at the farm
`of Bert' Vorstenbosch at R.R.#2
Mitchell.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken McLean,
Hensall, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mc-
Lean, London, 'Mr. and Mrs.
Larry McLean, Mr. Ray Dever-
eaux, Seaforth, attended a
dinner-dance Saturday evening in
the Canterbury Inn in Sarnia for
graduates of the St. Claire Reg::
tonal School of Nursing from
which Miss Gwen McLean,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken
McLean, Hensall, 'graduated.
Prior to graduation exercises
Sunday, the girls of the Class
'72 were entertained to a Mother-
Daughter luncheon in the school
dining room. Each graduate was
presented with a shyer spoon
engraved with the year of her
graduation and every mother re-
ceived a blue and yellow corsage.
The graduation exercises were
held in the Sanctuary of Central
United Church in Sarnia on -Sun-
day afternoon. Following the ..
graduation Mr. and Mrs. Ken
McLean entertained guests of
their daughter Gwen to dinner.
Tammy Baker, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baker, has
successfully passed her Grade
5 piano exam from the Western
Ontario Conservatory of Music.
Tammy is a pupil of Miss Greta
Laramie.
Mr, Anthony Gelderland, Rid-
getown, visited Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Sim Roobal.
Mr. and 'Mrs. Cecil Pepper
and daughters returnedthis pait
week-end from a weeks vacation
spent camping at "Lost Forest
Park" in the Parry Sound area.
Mrs. Albert Alexander spent
a few days last week visiting in
London with her sister and her
husband, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Par-
sons, and while there went -to
Guelph to visit cousins.

The U.C.W. of St. Andrew's
Church, Kippen, visited the Blue
Water Rest Home in Zurich to
provide entertainment for the
birthday party. Mrs. Tom Reid
chaired the program. Mrs. Ross
Broadfoot led the sing song and
provided some toe-tapping music
while lunch was being prepared.
Musical numbers on the piano
were given by Jill McLellan and
Linda Thompson. Music in song
by Debbie Consitt and the Finlay-
son sisters was greatly apprec-
iated. Mrs. Edison McLean
showed slides of local interest.
