No one ever thought much about the state of our lakes and of the air we breathe -until some university students started to take samples to de- fine all the impurities. , Since that time many of the young people have been great- ly concerned with the extent of the pollution all around us. They are to be commended for their concern. , In the thirties we- were much too concerned with survival because of the dep- ression to worry about anything else, and then right after that World War 11 kept many of us occupied for six years. After the was was over,, the lucky ones were only too, glad to get back to their dear but polluted Can- ada. They were content to try to - pick up where they had left off and go on as they had be- fore. we are proud \of these young People because they are not only talking about pollution but • are actually doing something about it. There are many kinds of. pollution to which we all con- tribute and we should try to do our part to out down on the men- ace which' we have created. SO to these young people we say well keep up the good work, but when you are doing such a good job, go allthe way ?Ad fight not only air and 'Water _pollution but also noise and lit- • ter pollution.
