The Dublin Jr. Girls' Soft-
ball_ team opened their season
with a bang Monday evening when
they met Brodhagen. The game
was played on Brodhagen's field
and, at the end of 6 innings the
Brodhagen girls coaceedecl the
game as Dublin was leading 40-4.
The highlight of Dublin's team
Was a grand slam home run for
MaiIt'een Ryan and a home run
for Cathy Murray. The Dublin
pitchers were in fine form and
the team as a whole played •
well.
Hold Shower
Miss Margaret Rose Ryan
was honoured at a bridal shower
on May 26th at her home prior to
her wedding to Mr. D.J.MacRae
on June 24th. Miss Irma Aggar,
MAss Gladys Roney and Miss Pat
Ryan hosted the enjoyable even-
ing with a variety of games.
Miss Ryan was then read a
, short address and presentedwith
many lovely gifts.
Afterraopening her gifts, the
bride to be thanked the 32 ladies
present for attending and for their

on Sunday.

and family spent the weekend

Mr. and Mrs. Dave Jameson,
Toronto, spent the weekend with

defeat
Harmony
Brodhagen Brewers scored
one run in the third, three in the
eighth and five in the ninth to
defeat the Harmony Langes 9 - 0
in St. Paul's on May 29th.
Doug. Leonhardt pitched the
nine innings for Brodhagen,
allowing only four hits and strik-
ing out 17 batters enroute to the
victory.
On June 1 at Brodhagen the
Brewers again defeated the
Langes by a score of 14 - 5.
Al French started the game
for Brodhagen and was relieved
by Doug. Leonhardt in the sixth
Brodhagen is tied with Kirk-
ton for the lead in the • "B"
division. On June 13 Kirkton
plays at Brodhagen in what will
be the battle for first place.
On Thursday, June 15, Tavis-
tack, who are leaders in the
"A" division, will play at Brod-
Wen in a game that may indicate
Brodhagen has a chance ,to:
surprise some of the-"A" teams•
this year.

A directory of all public ser-
vice organizations in Huron
county has been compiled by
the Huron County Social Ser-
vices Committee.
The committee, financed
under the Local Initiatives Pro-
gram, completed,' the -diVectory
and began distributing it last
,week. Copies will go'to libraries,
newspapers, ministers; doctors
and others involved in helping
-the public.
The directory gives these
people the names and numbers
of social agencies, health ser- .
viees-i- recreational services;,
educational institutions and ser-
vice industries such as news-
papers.

A largely attended reception
in the Legion Hall, Seaforth
marked the 25th wedding anni-
versary of Mr. and Mrs:-.Fergais
Feeney.
• Neighbours took advantage of
the occasion to present ,Mr. and
Mrs. Feeney with a studio couch
and members of their family
presented them with a coffee
table, matching end tables and
a set of lamps.
Mr. and Mrs. Feeney were
married on May 10, 1947 by
the late Father. T. P. Hussey
in St. James Roman Catholic
Church, Seaforth. The bride wa.s.)
the former Teresa Walsh,daugh-
ter of Mrs. John Walsh, now
of St. Mary's Hospital in London.
and the late John Walsh of Mc-
Killop. Mr. Feeney is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. -Martin Feeney,
An anniversary mass to com-
memorate the event was' sung
by Monsignor White, Father
Oostveen and Father Tom Mc-
Quaid.
Mr. and Mrs. Feeney have
a family of five sons and four
daughters, William, Dublin,
Linda, Mary,. Barbara, Louise,
Patrick, Michael, Joseph and
Martin all at home and one grand-
son, Tim. • -
An address accompanying the

Miss Olive Speare. Mrs. John
Miller 'presided for the opening,
