Club annual Summer Carnival
are well advanced according to

The carnival this year is
being held on Thursday, Friday
and SaturdaY; June 29,' 30 and

As in previous years
emphasis will he on a wide var-
iety of popular games coupled
with a full program of entertain-
ment different• on each of the
three nights.

were issued by the township for
$23,000.
The engineer's report was
received for' the repair and im-
proyement to the north branch
of the Ryan Municipal Drain, and
was provisionally adopted. Court
or Revision was sal for July 3.
Council 'endorsed the resolu-
tion from the County of Norfolk
concerning municipal drainage
maintenance subsidy.
Council was informed by the
assessment office that assess-
ment for the township has been
reduced by $4,325 to $2,888,035.
The provincial -Municipal
employment Incentive program
for 1971-12 has been extended
from May 31 to June 11. The
work In McKillop included trim-
ming, trees, removing dead elms.

was named outstanding female
athlete and received the Mary

Dr. M. K. Clugston, for the
past eight years assistant in
the Health of Animals Branch
here has been moved to Arnprior
where he Is the officer in charge
of the Arnprior District.

Mrs. Betty Southgate, RR 1,
Londesboro, was presented the
Seaforth Whippets trophy 'as the
most valuable player in senior
girls basketball.
The Ilabkirk Transit trophy
was awarded to Neil Murray',
RR 5, Seaforth, as, the most val-
uable player in senior boys bas-
ketball.
Gail Dolg, of Seaforth, as the
most' consistent player in senior
girls volleyball, was awarded
the B.J.Box trophy. •
As rookie -of the year in jun-
ior girls basketball, Teresa
Flannagan of RR 1, Dublin, was
presented the W . D. 11 oppe r and
Sons trophy.
-As the most valuable player
in junior boys basketball, Jim
Nigh of Egmondville was pres-
ented the Larone award.
Cathy Stewart of RR 2, Sea-
forth, was awarded the W.A.
Hodgert trophy for- team spirit
and leadership in junior girls
volleyball.
Gordon Dick, RR I, Crom arty,
received the Bill Thompaon
Memorial trophy as the roost

road work
in Huron
'Ontario will make a major
contribution to the cost of re-
constructing portions of three
Huron County roads affecting
Huron Industrial Park and the.
Benmiller community, Charles
MacNaughton, Huron MPP, an-
nounced this week.
Estimated expenditures on the
projects total about .$350,000,
of which the province.will con•-•
tribute $300,000.
The "U" access from 'No.'
4 highway , to the industrial park
has been designated as a develop-
ment road. About 3 3/4 miles are
involved, including a portion of
the ,Crediton Road and County
Road 21 which runs south from
. the. Crediton Road and, turns east
to the highway.
The section of Huron Road
No. I s from No. 8 highway to
the -new bridge at Benmiller, will
also receive supplementary sub-
sidy. The distance Is over two
miles.
Both projects will be con-
structed this . year by Huron
county.

Cook, while Mr. Hugill is a
native of Hullett, the son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. James Hugill.
Prior to the evening event,
members of their falnily and re-
latives entertained them at
dinner. They have a son,Loverne
Of McKillop and two daughters,
Joyce, Mrs. George Miller and
Sharon, Mrs. Ron Driscoll, both
Of Seaforth. A daughter, Gwen,
died several years ago. There
are 11 grandchildren. Following
their marriage they farmed in
McKillop where their son,
Le verne and his family reside.
They moved to their present
home in Harpurliey twenty years
ago and Mr. Hugill carries on an
extensive contracting business.
Mr.-and Mrs. Hugill received
many gifts and messages of con-
gratulation during the evening.

A well, known Seaforth and
Harpurhey couple were honored
Saturday when more than seventy
of their friends 'accompanied
them to Listowel Parkview Gar-
dens to joint them at a danc.e to
mark their 4'5th wedding• anni-
versarY.--
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Hugill
were married at Clinton on June

cil in a meeting that began at
8 p.m. Tuesday and adjourned
five hours later shortly before
one o'clock Wednesday morning

in the township, and the prelim-
inary plan on Silver Creek bridge
(at the golf course) east of Eg-

Burns of the engineering firm of
B.M.Ross & Associates Ltd. of
Goderich discussed plans for a
new bridge over Silver Creek and
the construction and route of a
new road from the golf course to
County Road 12 in Egmondville.
The plan as approved by council
proyides for a road leading from
the county road east past the
township shed and on to join the
existing concession road near the"
golf course. The plan now goes
to the Department of Transpor-
tation and Communication for
approval. It was one of five
proposals considered.
Mr. Dunn alSo. presented a
report on the road's at the form-
er Base which will be sent to the
Department of Transportation
and Communication for a decis-
ion as to whether they meet gov-
ernment standards adequately
enough to be eligible for the us-
ual grants covering maintenance
and future reconstruction when
necessary in the event the town-
ship takes over the roads.-
Burns discussed his re-
port on the condition of the storm
sewers at the Base. HiS report
will be sent to the Ontario Water
Resources Commission, for ap-
proval as to whether they,Meet
the standards set by the Corn-
mission.
