"In the kind of world we are living in today, our armed for- ces are barely large enough for national security, for a peace keeping force and for coping with, a natural disaster," said Dr. Worobetz in his opening speech. Speaking to more than 2,000 Legionnaires and guests in. the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts, Dr. Worobetz praised the role being played by the armed forces toddy and defended it against its critics. . think it is grossly unfair , to the members of the armed forces to be downgraded, accused .and sometimes singled out by some for somehow encouraging and, promoting war," he said. . Rather than using the armed forces as the scapegoat in asses- sing blame for war, Dr. Worobetz, himself a war veteran and holder of the Military Cross for outstanding bravery, attri- buted the blame to the "fight- ing 'aggressive •instinct of the savage" which he said is in air of us to some degree. "War is a magnification' of the war of human instincts which are out of control...a reflection 'of the , multiple miniature wars in the, hearts of individuals," he' said. He suggested that if every- one had a good dose of manual work daily,, it would not be sur- prising to see the number of confrontations. conflicts. tiro- ATTENTION OLD AGE PENSIONER \x\ \\\ \\\\ STILL AVAILABLE for that LOW, LATE FIELD GARRY-HERTA CEREAL MIXTURE GRASS and CLOVER SEEDS Stewart's Early SEED CORN also on hand For all your Seed Require- ments come to the ' SEED PLANT IN LONDESBORO R.N.
