B. W. REID, C.A.
To a friend in Dublin.
011 Dublin river keep on flowing
Your 'crystals fair there were
glowing
Often I'll listen on the shore,
Your echoes will charm me ever-
more.
Sometimes I ,meet a• girl near
there
And always has some love to
share,
I hope our friendship will never
die
Until the day we must say good-
bye.,
And who can say it may carry
there
This ember burning so bright so
fair
Pure bosomed and with light so
free
Sometimes she shows a light
to me
Always to me 'twill mean so much
Something, so fair beyond .0.1,ir
touch
My heart does sing a song ortwo
Whenever 'I happen 'to meet with
you,
The moon shines then: in my sky
Together we talk once in awhile
Together we sit' along the aisle
Only in church 'we should not
smile'
or Father pm may stop and
say
This House of the Lord is a
place to pray,
I hope in his' dismay he does
not look our way,
Is this enough to write of you?
. Crake. My dear good, be
true,
- And I will always remember you
And when the moon shines bright
an' fiir
My cousin's face will shine up
there
'Oh "Dublin river keep singing on
Often I listen to your dear song,
I hope our love will grow so high
How could true love ere say
goodbye.
