Those baptized were Tracy Lynn,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs,. Don
Fischer, Tracy Louise, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Bedford Taylor,
Ronald Stuart, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Stevenson. Harvey
Craig presented certificates on
behalf of the session of the
church. Rev. Docken took as his
sermon "Creating a _Happy
Home" for the special Mother's
Day Service. The choir also ren-
dered a special anthem.
Fred Uhler, John Leeming and
Murray McCall received the
offering.
FORMER MINISTER RECEIVES
DEGREE
Rev.! Gordon Hazelwood,- --a
lortner Minister of Walton, Mon-
crier, Benmiller and Mount For-
friends honor newlyweds
est United ChUrches, received
his Honorary Doctor of Divinity
Degree on Wednesday, May 12th
at the Convocation of Victoria
College, University of Toronto.
All of the former charges he
served were represented at a
special service at his church In
Hamilton on Sunday, May 14th.
The address was given by
Dr. S. J. Mathers, formerly of
Londesboro, who had taught Rev.
Hazelwood in college. Rev.
Hazelwood received a plaque and
a gift of money from the Hinkley
United Church, Hamilton where
he has been minister for the
past eleven years. Mrs. Jones,
representing the Mayor of Ham-
ilton, presented Rev. Hazelwood
with-`a - scroll 'as- being a newly
created recognition to be re-
ceived as a leading citizen. The
•
official board presented Rev.
Hazelwood with an old-fashioned
rocking chair.

United Church crest on it.
The Hazetwoods have two
children, Linda (married), living
in Burlington, a teacher, and
Lane, who is a music super-
visor of all the Hamilton schools.

Three car loads of ladies
from the Walton Wt.'. attended
the 70th Annual Meeting of the
East Huron Women's Institute
May 9th in the McIntosh United
Church, Lakelet. There were 99
present for the days activities.
Mrs. R. C, Moffatt of Guelph
supplied the entertainment during
the morning session when she
played the bells. There was also
a display of many different bells,
some from other countries. The
annual meeting next year will
be held at Walton.
Rollie Achilles and Don Ach-
illes visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Ted Achilles, Hearst.
Mr. and Mrs. William Stroop
of Listowel visited Mr. and Mrs
Stewart. Humphries on Sunday.
Martin Baan of Walton was
in Winnipeg last week attending
a meeting of the Dairy Farmers
of Canada.. Every province in
Canada was represented at the
meeting.
Mr. Baan Who has been active
in the Dairy Producers Co-Op
for a number of years is presi-
dent of United,Dairy Producers
Co-Op of Ontario.
