MRS. RAYMOND NOTT
Mrs. Raymond Nott, 61 of
Seaforth died in the Seaforth
, Community Hospital on Friday
after a short Illness.

Born in Seaforth, she was the
former w innifred Kruse. A grad-
uate of Seaforth Collegiate Insti-
tute, she was a member of St.
Thomas Anglican Church. She S
was married to Raymond Nott
who died in 1960.

MRS, J. LOUISA BENNEWEIS
Mrs. John (Louisa) Ben-
newels, 90, formerly of Brod-
hagen, died in the Tecumseh
Nursing home in Windsor Sun-
day.
The former Louisa Ahrens,
her husband predeceased her in
1961.
She was a member of St.
Peter's Lutheran Church in
Brddhagen and is survived by
sons, Clarence of Mitchell, Irvin
of Woodstock, Edwin of Seaforth,
Glen of Windsor; daughters, Mrs.
Fred (Lorena) Scherbarth, Mrs.
Ernie (Ella) Hartja, both of De-
troit, Mrs. Elwood (Evelyn)
Smart of Windsor, Mrs. Peter
(Sylvia) Kraus of Ruthven; a
brother, Edward of Brodhagen;
a sister, Mrs. Albert (Ida)
Wolfe of Mitchell; 21 grand-
children and 41 great-grand-
children.
The remains rested at the
Heath-Leslie funeral home, Mit-
chell. The funeral service was
Wednesday at St. Peter's
Lutheran Church, Brodhagen.
Interment followed in the adjoin-
ing cemetery.
CLARENCE R. STEPHENSON
A highly esteemed resident
of Clinton, Clarence Robert Ste-
phenson died at his residence On
Thursday, April 27. He was 63.
Born in Stanley Township he
was the son of Charlie and Mary
Anne Stephenson and attended
school- at S.S. No. 7 Stanley.
Following his marriage Oct-
ober 27, 1934 to the former
Blanche Taylor, he farmed on
the Parr Line, R.R. 1, Varna
until his retirement to Clinton
in 1968.
He is survived by his widow
a daughter Ann, Mrs. Dan Mc-
Millan, London and sons, Keith
of Varna and Kenneth of Clinton
and by five grandchildren ana
by a sister,, Gladys Coleman,
Hensall and brother George Ste-
phenson, Varna.
Funeral services were con
ducted at the Bell Funeral Home
, Clinton on Sunday by Rev. A.
Morrison and Rev. A. Mowatt.
Interment followed in Hayfield
Cemetery. ........
WM. ROSS LOVE
A well known former, resident
of the Hillsgreen area, Wm. Ross
Love of Clinton, passed away
suddenly in Goderich on Thurs-
day May 4, 1972, in his 70th
year. He was the beloved hus-
band of the former Grace Fari-
hairn, and dear father of Robert,
Madison, Wisconsin; Keith, RR1
Zurich; and Mrs. Ken(Helen)
McKay,, RR 2, Kippen. Brother
of Grant, Caro, Michigan; Glenn,
Sudbury; and Mrs.' Grace Mc-
Ewan, RR 1, Hensall. Also sur-
viving are 12 grandchildren and
one great granddaughter. The
body rested-at the Bonthron Fun-
eral Chapel, Hensall, when ser-
vice was held Monday May 8,
1972, with Rev. Lewis, Clinton
and Rev. Packman, Brucefield,
officiating. Pallbearers were

Archie Parsons, Ernie White-
house, Stan Love and Jim mcAl-
Flowerbearers were Dona
glas McKay, Gregory Love and
Gary Love. A Masonic Service
was held Sunday evening at the
Funeral Chapel. Internment in
Bairds Cemetery.

Huron Presbyterial was held
in Seaforth Presbyterian Church
last Wednesday afternoon, with
over 60 members and friends
attending from Goderich , Auburn
Blyth, Belgrave, Hensall and Sea-
forth. Mrs. Jack Pollock, God-
erich, presided and Mrs. Ray
Dyke acted as Secretary. Guest
speaker for the afternoon, was
Miss Giola Kelly„ Toronto, • who
is the assistant Secretary of the
National Council of the Presby-
terian Church of Canada. Solo-
ist was Mrs. Christina Newstead,
Torohto. Those attending from
Hensall were Mrs. Blanche Dou-
gall, Mrs. Grace McEwan, Mrs.
Maggie Campbell, Mrs. Ruby
Hoggarth, Mrs. Myrtle Orr, Mrs.
Janet MacKinnon, Mrs. Rachel
Schwalm, Mrs. Madeline Har-
burn and Mrs. Edith Miller.Mrs.
;Elizabeth Faber, Library Secre-
tary, displayed and took orders
for Christian literature books.
Mrs. Rachel Schwalm extended
an invitation for the Fall Rally
of the Huron Presbyterial to be
held in Carmel Presbyterian
Church in Hensall in October.
Unit meets .
Unit IV of Hensall U.C.W.
met on May 4 with Mrs. James
McAllister presiding . She open-
ed the meeting by reading Revel-
ations 21 Verses 5..."I have
• made all things new, " followed
by -prayer. Three hymns were-
sung with Mrs. R. Sherritt ac-
companying on the piano. The
ladies were treated, to a piano
solo, "Melody in F," by Miss
Greta Lain mie. The ..devotional
given by Mrsa Leona Park was
taken from Matthew 25, 31-40;
' "And he will place the sheep on I
his right hand and the goats on
his left" followed by prayer.The
pictures of Africa on filmstrip,
were very educational and in-
formative, with Mrs. Rowe and
Mrs. Chipchase showing ahe
filmstrip. The offering was tak-
en 'by Mrs. Harry Horton. The
ladies reported that they had
made 83 visits and quilted many
quilts. Plans were made to pro-
vide flowers for Sunday services
in May and for the supper for the
teachers soon. Lunch of cookies'
and tea was served by Mrs. Fa
McAllister and her committee.

Amber Rebekah Lodge met
Wednesday evening in the Lodge
rooms with N.G.Mrs.E rnie Chip-
chase presiding and assisted by
V.B.Mrs. Bev Beaton. A number.
of members and husbands had
attended the 80th Birthday Ban-
quet of the Edelweis Rebekah
Lodge in Seaiorth.
Park board
sets plans
Hensel]: Parks Board met
May 2 in the arena and decided
to have the Recreation Pro-
gramme again this year. The
, programme will commence ap-
proximately the 2nd week in
July and continue on, Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays for
three weeks. It was announced
that donations would be apprec-
iated for this worthwhile -event.
Mrs. Margaret Thorndike,
Clinton, and Mrs. MacDonald of
Edmonton visited . with Mrs.
Rachel Schwalm Tuesday of last
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fink and
Miss Patricia Anstett, Clinton,
spent the past week-end in Belle-
ville visiting with Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Fink and family.

A meeting is to be requested
with the Wingham town council
to seek a remedy for the dust
situation on the road to Sacred
Heart School.

School in Stratford and one will

Mr. Walraven was authorized
to arrange during the summer to
have fill put on the section of the
school yard at Holy Name School
in St Marys where it is needed.
Arthur Raid, RR 4, Listowel,
chairman of the' transportation
committee, reported on an ad-
vanced bus drivers' course at
Fanshawe College in London.
Jack Lane, business Administra-
tor, reported he hopes to show a
film "The Broken Bus" at the
next board meeting to demon-
strate what can happen to stud-
ent passengers during an acci-
dent.
Michael Connolly, chairman
'of the Personnel and Salary Ne-
gotiating committee, • said. that
negotiations with the Teachers'
Committee are underway. The
meeting adjourned at 11 p.m.

the funeral of the' late Henry
E. Diegel, who was laid -to rest
last Tuesday.
The sympathy of the com-
munity is extended to the famil-
ies of the late Wilfred Wolfe,
who was laid to rest on Monday
and Mrs. John L. Bennewies, who
was laid to rest on Wednesday.
A large number of ladies-'
gathered Sunday afternoon at the
Brodhagen Community Hall for
a bridal shower for Phyllis
Ahrens, bride-elect for May.She
received many lovely miscellan-
eous gifts for her home.

Many residents of the village
of Hensall were saddened to learn
of the death of Byron (Doc)Kyle,
who passed away very suddenly
at his residence on BrockStreet,
Sunday evening, May 7, irahis
59th year.
Mr. Kyle, widely known as
"Doc" was born on the Parr
Line and has lived and worked
for many years in and around
the Hensall area as a Decorator.

Chief. At the time of his death,
he was a member of the Royal
raaraadias LeOen and the 1,0.0.F.
He is survived by his Wlanw,
the former Olive Brock, tb whom
he was married in 1937 and sous
Don, Georgetown, Douglas, at
home, and a daughter, Mrs. Dou-
glas (Suzanne) Johnston, Lama
Mr. Kyle is also survived by his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Kyle of Hensall and by brothers,
Dave, Hensall;, Russel, St.Cath-
erineS; Roy, Timmins and sis-
ters, Mrs. Arnold (isobelle)
Merner, Zurich; and Mrs, Clar-
ence (Dorothy) Tuckey, London.
Three grandchildren also sur-
vive.
The body rested at the Bon-
thron Funeral Chapel Hensall,
till Wednesday, when a service
was held at 2 p.m. with Rev.
Don Beck officiating. Intern-
ment was in Hensall Union Cem-
etery.

nell, Gerald Glenn, Tom Brint-
nell, Ted Taylor, Stewart Bell
and Don Dixon.
Flowerbearers were Robert
Merner, Eddie Kyle, Gary Kyle
and James Tuckey.
A Legion Service was held by
the Hensall Branch of the Cana-
dian Legion Tuesday evening ata
the Funeral Home and an I.O.O.P.
'Lodge Service the same evening.
MRS. BERT STEPHENSON
Mrs. Bert Stephenson, of Sea..."
forth, died in Huronview, Clinton
Thursday, following a long ill-
ness. She was 93.
She was born in Elimville,
the former Ethel Andrew, daught-.
er of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thom-
as Andrew. In 1898 she married
Bert Stephenson at Kinburn. She
belonged to Northside United
Church in Seaforth. Mr. Steph-
enson died in 1945. A son Lea
predeceased her in 1956.
'Surviving are a brother,
- George in Saskatoon, Sask., a
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Leo
(Ellie) Stephenson with whom
She had previously lived and by
two grandsons and nine great-
grandchildren.
The body was at the R.S.Box
funeral home in Seaforth where
funeral service yas held Seaera
day at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev.
M.E.Reuber, assisted by Rev.
J.C.Britton, with burial in Mait-
landbank cemetery in Seaforth.
Pallbearers were Lorne Law-
son, Frank Riley, Jack Medd,

and Stewart Dale.
MRS. JOHN KRAEMER
Mrs. John Kraemer, 82, died
Sunday in Seaforth Community
Hospital.
The former Nellie Burroats,
she was born in England, and
moved to Toronto in 1910 and to
Seaforth in 1950.-
She was, predeceased by her
husband in 1966.
Survivors are: a d ter,
Mrs. Edward (Mary) Boyce of
Seaforth; four grandchildren;
seven great -grandchildren,
The body was at the R.S.Box
funeral home where services
were held Wednesday at 2 p.m.,
Rev. Mervyn Reuber officiated
and burial followed in Brussels
cemetery.
Pallbearers were Frank Hull-
ey, Ralph McNichol, Wm. Rae,
Con Eckert, Hugh McPherson,
and Glen McNichol. Flowerbear-
ers were W.J.Leeming and Ed ,
Regele.
PATRICK MALONEY
Postmaster at Dublin since
1968, Patrick Maloney died Sat-
urday 'in' his 65th year, in aaea-
forth Community Hospital, 2ter.

He was, born, in McKillop
Township, the son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Maloney.
He served overseas in the Sec-
ond World War with the Perth
Regiment. Upon discharge he
worked in the Dublin Creaniery.
He was appointed assistant post
master in 1965 and post master
in 1968.
He is survived by, one sister,
Mrs. Alvin (Ellen) Sharp of Clin-
ton and several nieces and neph.
