Of Prayer
Mrs. Dave Kyle will be the
guest speaker at the World Day
of Prayer Service to be held in
Hensall United Church', March 3
at 3 p.m. She has chosen for her

Offer-Forage
Short Course
A two-day short course has
been scheduled for March- 1'4
and March 15 at Centralia Col-
lege of Agricultural Technology
when all types of forage crops
which may, be used as livestock
feed will be discussed. Empha-
sis will be on feeding values,
storage and , handling, as well
as pi-eduction techniques.
Some of the personnel who
will be speaking and leading the
discussion periods include Pro-
fessor Bob Fulkerson and Dr.,
Jack Winch from the University
of. Guelph. Mr. M. Kellam, a
beef feedlot- operator, Jack
Underwdod, , Doug Jamieson and
Jim O'Toole frorri-CentraliaCol-

da, and the combined birthdays
of the founders, Lord and Lady
Baden Powell. The latter is the,

A life-long resident of the
Chiselhurst area, Thomas Drov-
er passed away suddenly at his
residence, R.R. #2, Staffa, Feb-
ruary 21p 1972 in his 80th year.
Mr. Drover was born in Bib-
bert Township March 11,1892,
the son of John and Isabella Drov-
er. He., married the former Ethel
Bell of Usborne Township, „Milit-
ary 10,1917.
Al/ his life he resided in the
Chiselhurst area on a Century
farm that has been in the Drover
name for over 100 years,
He was the beloved husband
of the former Ethel Bell anddear
father of Earl, London, Mrs.
Beatrice Munn at home.
Brother of Mrs.. Maude:.Mc-
Dougair and !Otis Bella Drover,
R.R.01, Hensall. Also surviving
are :3 grandchildren, Robert And
Joyce Munn, London, and ,Mrs.
3ohn(June) Jacobi, Strathroy,and
1 great granddaughter, Jennifer
Munn of London. -
The body rested at the'Bon-
thron Funeral Chapel, Hensall,
when service. was held February
24,1972: Rev. Don Beck officiat-
ed.
Temporary entombment was
made, in Hensall Mausoleum
Chapel ,,vith burial to be ie Mc-
Taggarts Cemetery at a later
date.

ing.
In previous weeks the Brown-
ies visited :We Post office. For
Valentine's- bay, they made hanky
cases -fOr their mAhers as part
of their craft programme. Dur-
ing February, 3 Brownies .were
presented tleir Liars.
A meeting was held lastiues-
day in Hensall United Church
with a field service team from
.the London Cbriference to discuss
the needs of the Sunday School
and other organization s within
the Church.
The outcome of the meeting,
was the setting up of Develop-

Carmel Presbyterian Explor-
ers met .- on Sunday morning in
the Church ,basement. Leaders
Mrs. Al Hoggarth and Linda Bell
welcomed members. Africa is
the study for this year. The
country of Liberia was the first
project with flag, customs and
ierlustry being discussed. Scrap
hooks are. to be made. A drum
band is to be a future project,
also a compfire session. '

Baker and Vickie Mann. Brown-
ies and Guides have been active

Church. Leader, Mrs. Joyc,e

Bible story called A•Quarrel
and How It Ended." The offer-
ing was taken by John McAllister
and attendance of 7 was record--
ed. Leader Mrs. Shirley McAll-
ister read a story on eNdamba's
New Work" furthering our study
on Africa.
Interesting mobiles on ,,Shar-
ing" were made which took very
nimble fingers.

Kip'pen East W. I. celebrated,
the 75th Anniversary of the -F w
W. I. of Ontario In Hensall Com-
munity centre on Tuesday.
All the branches of South
Huron District Women's Instit-
utes were represented,- The
Institute colours of royal blue
and gold were used in decorat-
ing with potted mums, stream-
ers, candles and bows. Each
tea table had a floral arrange-
merit- as dal the dessert table.

Carmel.

The C.O.C. of Carmel Pres-
byterfan Church held their Feb-
ruary meeting on Sunday morn-
ing, and opened with the C.O.C.
motto. Seven members answered
the roll call by' naming their
favourite winter sport. The of-
fering was taken by Donna Tay-
lor, and the prayer was given by
Beatrice Thompson. The study
of Africa was continued, using
food and education as the sub-'
ject for this' month. Everyone
started making booklets, which
included a map of Africa and a
flag of Liberia. The next meet-
mg will be on March 12.
