was married to Mr. Thomson at
Woodstock on Nov. 20, 1929. ShO
came to this district in 1957.
She is survived by her
hisband; one son, David R. of
Tottenham; one daughter, Mrs.
Robert (Anne) Ste. Marie of I
R.R. 4, Seaforth; one sister, Mrs.
B, H. (Ruth) Sloan' of Dundasa
seven grandchildren.
Tile body was at the R. S.
Box' funeral home, Seaforth where
funeral services were conducted
on Tuesday • afternoon
by Rev. M. E. Reuber of North-
side United Church. Temporary
entombment will be in Pioneer.

with burial later in the Woodstock' 6

MRS. CARRIE DUNBAR
Mrs. Carrie Dunbar of
Brussels passed .away in
wingham and District Hospital on
Wednesday, February 16th in her
86th year.
Mrs. Dunbar, oldest daughter
of the late James and Mary-Speir
was born, in Morris Township,
She- married Garfield Dunbar of
Grey Township in 1916.
She was a member of Mel-
ville Presbyterian ChurCh, Brus-
sels, and a faithful member of
the choir for many years. _ A

Lodge, Bruasels, she was Past
Noble Grand and Past Deputy
Grand: She had been a Rebekah ''''
prior to the forming, of • the
Brussels Lodge.
She is survived by one sister,
Mrs. Cara Bell of Mississauga,
Ontario and nieces and nephews.
Her husband predeceased her
in 1919, also two brothers, Harold
and John, and one sister 'a
Elizabeth.
The body rested at the M. L.
Watts Funeral Home where the
funeral service was conducted

Mrs. Helen Williamson was
hostess for the 17th and Boundary
Unit at,.4ar home on Wednesday
afternoon, February 16. The
ladies worked on a quilt durfng
the afternoon and later this was
completed.
Mrs. J. Van Vliet Sr. opened
the meeting with the Thought for
the Day. "In Christ there is
no East or West" with Mrs.
-M. Baan as pianist, was sung
and Mrs. Van Vliet read the
Scripture from Luke 18:1.-20,
followed by a poem "The Will
of God".
Mrs. James Williamson chose
for the Topic, "Over Dose" by
Billy Graham, a story of a girl
on drugs, and also a short story
on Our Holy Father"a The
collection was taken and dedi-
cated by Mrs. Van Vliet.
Mrs. Harvey Craig took
the chair for the business: Mrs.

Walton I 441 Club met at
the home of Mrs. Allan Searle
on February 15 with seven mem-
bers present.
OffMers elected are: Pres11-
dent, Susan Humphries; Vice -
President, Anne Watson; Secre-

Mrs. Searle and Mrs. Watson
told what had to be put in the
sewing boxes and what the intro-
ductory page should include. Dis-
cussion led into the choosing of
sleepwear, style, comfort and
c hoos trig th_e___pattern, Also choos-
ing the fabrics and the quality
of material.

The second meeting of Walton
II was held at the home of Mrs.
Don Nolan on 'Saturday. Eight
girls answered the roll call.

Monday, when a farewell birth-
day party was held ip honour of
Mrs. Wm Rothon, who is moving
with her husband and daughter to
Kitchener. She will be much
missed by her friends in the
village, Cards were played and
prizes were won by Ann James
and Anne Rothon. Lunch was
served by the hostess and a good
time was enjoyed by all.'
Egrriondville 11 '44-1 club met
at the home of the assistant teach-
er, Mrs. Merl Glanville. The
girls chose a name for their club,
"The Snazzy Snoozers." Next
meeting will be held at the home
of the teacher, Mrs. Charles
Geddes.

MRS. LLOYD ALCOCK
Mrs. Lloyd Alcock of walker-
ton, passed ,away at County of
Bruce General Hospital, Walker-
ton, on Wednesday, Februaryl6th
in her 53rd year, after an illness
of two months.
The former Laura Frances
Hopper,born in Morris Townphip,
she was the daughter of the late
Lyle and Emma (Lake) Hopper.
-She was married to Lloyd Alcock
at the home 'of her parents, on
September 20th, 1941. She re-
ceived her early schooling at
Stone -School; Morris Township.
She was a registered' nursing
assistant.
A former resident of- Brus-
sels she had been a resident of
the walkerton area since 1956.
She was a member of Melville
Presbyterian Church,. Brussels.

MRS. CliARLES 'BARBER
Mrs. Charles Barber, 04, of
81 Goderich St, W., Seaforth,
died in Seaforth Community/10a-
pital Thqrsday after a two-week
Illness.
She was the former Mabel
'Smith, a daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Werner Smith
and was born near Hickson in
Oxford county. At one time she
was a music teacher.
She „Married Charles Barber
on December 25, 1907 and moved
to 'Seaforth in 1914 when Mr.
Barber aquired the Searforth
Creamery. She was a member
of Northside United Church and
for a number of years was active
in the Sunday School and in the
music of the Church.
She is survived by her huS-
band; a son, William of St.
Thomas; a daughter, Mrs. John
(Mary) Carideo, of Seaforth; six
grandchildren; six great-grand-
children.
The body was the G. A. Whit-
ney funeral home where funeral
services were held Monday. at
2 p.m. with Rev. M. E. Reuber
officiating. Interment will follow
in Maitlandaank cemetery with
temporary interment in the Pion-
eer Mausoleum. Pallbeaers
