Flashback
Each Sunday evening on CBC television,
"Flashback" dips into the past bringing the famous
before the cameras to reminisce. They are quizzed

Miss Jessie L. Metcalf of De-
troit is in residence at her vil-
lage home.
Guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. F.
Scotchmer over the holiday sea-
son included: their eldest son
and daughter-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Stephen Scotchmer, King-
ton ,and Jim McLeod, Toronto.
Staying with Mrs. Jack Cluff
are her family: Mr. and Mrs.
Fletcher McLaughlin, Toronto;
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Moss, Lon-
don; and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Fal-
ler and their baby son, of De-
troit.
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hovey
spent Christmas Day as guests
of her sister and family, Mr.
and Mrs. George Doerr, Brian,
Braden and Kevin, of Mitchell.
The Little Inn re-opened this
Christmas for a private house
party given by Miss Ruth Hay-
man, for relatives and friends.
Guests arriving on Monday,

L. Archer, Kathleen and Barry,
from Washington, D.C.; David
Archer, London, and G. Archer,
Ottawa. They were joined on
Wednesday by: Mr. and Mrs. A.

criticized the farmers during
the tenth annual conference
sponsored by the Huron County
Federation of Agriculture which
dealt with rural development,
farm prices and other problems.

spend Christmas with his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. William E.
Parker. On Christmas Day,
they were joined by Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Parker, Pam, Jack
and David, who will return to
Dorchester this week.
Tom Logan, Jr.. of London,
was with his parents from
Thursday until Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Pearson,
Jr., and Douglas, of London,
were at their cottage over the
weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Weston
and family, of London, and
guests from Toronto were at
their summer home this past
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baker
of London; Mr. and Mrs. Chris
Klaudi, of Woodstock; and
Dr and Mrs. Moore Hyslop and
daughter Julie, of Royal Oak,
has been accused of bad judge-
ment, but the difficulty is a
lack of money.
Need $20 Each
Alex D. McGregor of Kippen,
chairman of the meeting, and
president of the federation, said
an investment by each F.A.M.E.
shareholder of $20 could raise
a total of $3,000,000 for the
organization.
Robert Allen of Brucefield, a
director of the White Bean
Growers' Board said this year
has produced record crops—the
highest yields ever. He said he
had not heard a dissenting voice
from one producer.
Elmer Hunter of Colborne
Township said he felt formation
of Huron Agricultural Rehabili-
tation Development Act Com-
mittee was a step in the right
direction to solving farm prob-
lems. He said rural develop-
ment has become one of the
most basic ideas of our time.
Among those attending the
meeting were Murray Gaunt,
MPP for Huron-Bruce; Ontario
Highways Minister Charles
MacNaughton, MPP for Huron,
and Marvin Howe, MP for
Wellington-Huron.

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Scotch-
mer and Howard spent Christ-
mas with their family, Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Pounder and family,
Chatham.
Mrs. William Metcalf, Mont-
real, is staying with Mrs. D.
Dewar. David Dewar of Tor-
onto, joined them for the week-
end.
Mr. and Mrs. William El-
liott were in Kitchener for
several days last week and re-
turned on Sunday with their
son, John, who spent the day
with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin And-
rews of London, spent Satur-
day and Sunday at their vil-
lage home.
