rtial music was supplied
the RCAF Clinton Band
and the band of the Royal
Canadian Army Cadets from
Camp Ipperwash.
Lions president, Adam Flow-
ers, led the parade on his palo-
mino, "Sunny", closely follow-
ed by a car containing the vil-
lage trustees.
Clergy Unite
Another car bearing a poster
which read: "Go to the Chur-
ch of your choice", carried min-
isters of the Anglican, Roman
Catholic and United Churches.
Fred Mote's steam engine
was again prominent and de-
lighted both young and old with
its tuneful whistle.
Fire chief Walter Westlake
kept 1 'atch on the wood burn-
locomotive, but in expert
hands the huge machine gave
off no sparks and very little
smoke.
Zurich Majorettes
Another highlight was the
baton - twirling high - stepping
parade of ktajorettes from Zur-
ich, some of whom appeared al-
most too young to march all
the way from the poet office
to the Agricultural Park.
The main feature of the par-
ade were, to many, however,
the colorful floats, the clowns,
the decorated bik."clos and the
contrived (xxilumes
worn by pedectrian and other
entrants.
The entire parade was organ-
ized and managed by Lions Alf
Scotchmer, "Pete" Peterson
and Robert Maloney. Judges
were, Brigadier W. S. Murdock.
Mrs. R. G. Hunter, Mrs. F. P.
Arkell and Mrs. E. Oddliefson.

VILLAGE VISITOR
Mrs. Trevor Thomas. Adast-
ml Park, Clinton, visited on
Wednesday afternoon with Mrs.
R. Roy Fitzsimons.
One of the many interesting floats in the big parade was the Parker net float
with Barbara Turner proudly gracing the top. The entries were many and varied
and made up one of the most impressive parades in some time judging by the
comments of onlookers. (Visser Photo)
Parade Marshall Bob Maloney confers with a member of the Goderich detach-
ment, Ontario Provincial Police on traffic control and the route of the parade,
while two other quaint characters have themselves a ball in true hillbilly garb.
