Letter To The Editor The Editor, Dear Sir: Recently a successful rum- mage sale was held by the Pioneer Park Association. How- ever it struck this citizen that very little is known about the Pioneer Park Association. For instance, does it have a closed or an open membership? How does one become a member? What happens to any profits that may be made from such money-raising activities as the rummage sale? Since the Pioneer Park As- sociation presumably owns and is responsible for the Pioneer Park, why is there such a lack of facilities? With the excep- tion of a few benches, no effort seems to have been made to make the park more attractive. Would someone please let the rest of Bayfield in on what the Pioneer Park Association is all ohout? A Curious Citizen. Bayfield Briefs Mr. and Mrs. John E. Page 2—The Bayfield Bulletin—Wed., August 5, 1964 EDITORIAL By ART ELLIOTT OUR COUNTERPART It was with keen interest that we received re- cently a copy of The Bayfield County Press from Bayfield County, Wisconsin, U.S.A. Ignorance is really no excuse, but we were suprised to know there is a Bayfield County, even so far away as the head of the lakes. The paper is well printed in one of the old traditional type faces and we trust is well received by the populace in that region. The news coverage seems thorough, which should merit solid support. We thank James M. Gibeau, the edi- tor, for his courtesy in sending along a copy, and wish the Bayfield County Press continuing success. OUR LIBRARY Space permitting, this issue will carry some more information about Bayfield Library and the current drive for funds to get the institution out of debt. Unquestionably the library serves one of the finest purposes, and deserves the support of full time residents and summer visitors alike. Every dollar will help and we hope they shower down but soon.
