(Cont. from page 3)
He told of meeting with the
Select Committee of the On.
tario Legislature and of the
brief presented by this Auth-
ority to that Committee,
which aims at having all ar-
eas of the Province brought
under the Conservation Auth-
orities Act. He said he had
reason to believe that the
Select Committee is also
thinking along this line.
TREAS. REPORT
C. W. Bamford, S ecretary-
treasurer, presented the
Financial Report for 1966. He
said as of December 31,
1966 the Authority had a cred-
it balance in the Bank of
$18,705.68, much of it der-
ived through savings in the
past and other years and in
addition submissions have
been forwarded to the Gov-
ernment, through which the
Authority will recover an-
other $5,141.32 making a total
credit of $23,847.00. The
Treasurer noted, however,
that a cheque for $4,59.75
has been issued for purchase
of the Young property (Sar-
atoga Swamp) in accordance
with the $5,000 reforestat-
ion land acquisition provided
for in the 1966 Budget. There
is also the $6,750. contract
for the development of the
Falls Reserve road, which
also was provided for in the
1966 budget. Much of the
work has yet to be done
but to date no bills have
been paid. December acc-
ounts of $642.19 should also
be applied against the year-
end balance, stated the Trea,
surer and subtracting these
outstanding amounts leaves
a true balance of $11,861.06.
He said that it should be
borne in mind that this sur-
plus must meet operating
expenses until the 1967 levies
are collected.
The report was adopted on
motion of George Mc.
Cutcheon and W. J. Kelter-
born.
