A welcome was extended to the Authority by the Town of Brussels by Mr. George McCutcheon. CHAIRMAN'S ADDRESS In his annual address to the Authority, Chairman Smith congratulated the represent- atives for the turn out and noted this was the largest attendance on record for an annual meeting, He said no doubt weather was a factor. Mr. Smith congratulated the Executive members and told the Authority at large that much of the success of the operation in 1966 was the re.re- sult of the hard work done by these members who sere as Advisory Board Chair- men and also therefore on the Executive. Mr. Smith noted that some frustration was experienced in the beginning of the year and mentioned in particular, the Falls Reserve Develop- ment. But, he added, this was finally brought into place where the Authority can now go as fast or as slow as it wishes depending on its own initiative and its finan- ces. Mr. Smith noted that the Authority had moved into its own headquarters at Wrox. eter during the year and said that work improving the building is still being carr- ied on and that a section of the structure is beingpre. pared to serve as both a Board Room and class room for a 4-H Forestry Club • which is organized and spon- sored by this Authority. The Chairman noted that the Authority has 984 square miles in the watershed and in this area some 44'7 acres are designated conservation lands and recreation areas with as yet only 50 acres developed for recreation. (Staff Photo) If you're looking for a place to start on home improvements, consider these facts about electric wiring. To most people, home improvements mean a panelled recreation room or a shiny new set of kitchen cupboards. But there's a way to improve the improve- ments: modernize your home wiring first. Up-to-date wiring lets you make the most of the new room you're building, or the old one you're re-styling. It lets you place your lighting wherever you like, have as many electrical outlets as you choose, and use as many appliances as you need without popping fuses. In fact, you'll notice pleasant changes all through your home. Modern wiring can improve the efficiency of your light- ing and the performance of your appli- ances. It puts such comforts as electric heating and air conditioning well within your reach. It can also make a big differ- ence to the safety and re-sale value of your home. Before you reach for your toolbox, reach for your telephone. Call a qualified electrical contractor, or your Hydro. Up-to-date wiring costs less than you may s9, think. Yet it could be your most important home improvement of all. . . For . . BUILDING SUPPLIES and HARDWARE Of All Kinds . . - It's BAYFIELD HARDWARE and LUMBER SAYFMLD Phone W. MacDonald Electric Co.
