Letters to the Editor Ri ETti s
\\II\ Dear Sir:
We hope this letter will help
launch a year-round program of
public education into the benefits
of investing in the rehabilitation
of disabled persons in Ontario.
This is March of Dimes month and
more than 450 volunteer committees
throughout the province are busily
organizing their 40,000 Marching
Mothers. The Mothers, on the even-
ing of January 31, will be call-
ing on more than 500,000 homes to
canvass for the March of Dimes.
The enclosed background release
will give you a picture of what
the Foundation accomplishes and
how it was founded. Itis refresh
ing in these times when we are bei
ing told constantly that we must
be brothers, keepers to find an
organization or so-called welfare
agency that insists on returning
its investors, money with interest.
This is what is happening at
the Rehabilitation Foundation for
the Disabled. But we are just
scratching the surface in this
field.
We ask your cooperation in help-
ing to relay this story of rehab-
ilitation of the disabled. It is
an inspiring and profitable one.
Our volunteer committees will be
calling on you for aid in publicizi
ing their local campaigns during
this month, and you will be hear-
ing from them at a less accelerat-
ed pace regulargly throughout the
year.
May we thank you again for your
past cooperation and hope it will
countinue for the benefit of all
citizens of Ontario.
Sincerely,
Howard C. Caine
President March of Dimes
