Fisher, Ste Agathe were in the village on Saturday and called on friends. Tom Anderson and Doug. Wilson, London spent the weekend at the Albion Hotel and on Saturday entertained Mr. and Mrs. Eric Earl for dinner to celebrate Mr. Earl's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. John Pearson return ed home last Tuesday after having spent 12 days with their daughter and family Mr. and Mrs. R. Corri- veau, Chambley, Quebec, enroute home they stayed in Brantford at the home of their son and family Mr. and Mrs. Milton Talbot. Mr. and Mrs. E. Oddleifson, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Moore, over the week-end. A post christmas celebration in their new home in Brantford. Mr. and Mrs. Moore formerly lived in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Ormond cele- grated their 50th wedding anniver- sary on December 31st. 1965. Mr. and David Ormond, with their children Lucy, Stephen, and Brian from Lavionia, Mich. were with them to pay tribute totheir parents as well as their daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. By- ron Johnson of Astabula; and Miss Ruth Martin, elder sister of Mrs. Ormond and Mrs. Thorald March Canton, Ohio. Unit One Of St. Andrew's Renews Fund Raising Plan Unit 1 of St. Andrews United Church met on Thursday afternoon in the Sunday School room of the Church for their first meeting of the year. Mrs. L. Poth conduc4ed the devotional part of the Meeting giving a short well planned sum- mary of each chapter of the study book "God and His Purpose." Next year the study book will be "Jesus Christ and the Christian life". Mrs. Lindsay Smith conducted the part of the meeting with Mrs. John Watson as secretary and Mrs. R. Peterson as treasurer. NAME Street City or Town Province or State (Please Include Postal Zone If Any) Crash Kills One, Injures Five Near Holmesville Saturday Night Homesville - Mrs. Harold New- combe, 64 of 101 Elgin Ave, God- erich, was killed Saturday night in a two-car crash west of here on Highway 8. Injured in the same car were: Mrs. John Murison, 56, of Goder- ich; Mrs. Myra McNevin,62, of Goderich. In the second car, driver Mrs. Alice Thomas,27 , of Toronto, was not injured. Injured in the car Mrs. Thomas was driving was her daughter, Wendy, 6 who suffered a broken leg; 4-year old son, Douglas, with scalp lacerations; and Mrs. Celia Dobson, 46, of Toronto, Two fractured ankles. All are in satisfactory con- dition , Mrs. Murison is in Alexandra General and Marine Hospital, the remainder are in Clinton Public General Hospital. Mrs. Newcombe was the former Robina Nagle. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Betty) Howden , of Islington; and sister, Mrs. John Cuthbertson, of Goderich. The body was at the Lodge funeral home, Goderich. Service was on Wednesday, January 12th, at St. George's Anglican Church, Goderich. Burial was in Maitland cemetery. ••=1.01M M•0011M1011 Seaforth Man, And Daughter Die In Crash North Of Winthrop Seaforth: A seaforth man and his daughter were killed in a single- car crash, Saturday, on Huron County Road 12, about six miles north-west of here. Dead are: J. Albert Hudson, 74, and Miss Muriel Hudson 46. Miss Hudson was dead at the scene, two miles north of the rural community of Winthrop. Her father died yesterday in Seaforth Community Hospital. Seaforth OPP said the Hudson car hit an icy patch on the road and struck a post in the ditch. Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife the former Amelia Brown;dau- ghters, Mrs. Frank(Dorothy Holroyd, of Preston, and Mrs. Barry (Marg- aret) Marshall, of Walton; sister, Mrs. Al. (Susan) Stone, Norwich. The double funeral was held at the .S. Box funeral home, Sea- forth, Rev. J. C. Britton of Northside United Church , Seaforth officated on Tuesday, January 11th. Temporary entombment will be in Pioneer Memorial Mausaleum, Sea- forth, for burial later at Malt- land cemetery. The monthly meetings will be held on Fridays in the future, witt the next one being Feb. 4th. This meetina will take the form of "Open House" with card games and lunch being served.
