In these days of cal
ling tow trucks to get
the old bus out of the
drifts it is galling
in the extreme to re-
call how the old snow-
shoes could be depend-
ed upon at all times
to get you there, pro-
vided it was not too
far.
The last week or 2
has been soul-testing
to say the least, and
if we happen to have
one, it has just about
had the course.
Blown the anti-freez
twice, got a new fan
belt, new battery cab-
le, and not long ago
a new piece of hose
and more gallons of
anti-freeze. And then
the gearshift handle
had to come off right
in the midst of try-
ing to rock out of a
big drift.

or, just for tonight,'
The Dept. of Lands
and Forests advises
that work is proceed-
ing on the new Point
Farm Provincial Park
near Goderich.
The main road system
is almost completed
and several buildings
have been started. It
is expected that at
least three "comfort
stations"(guese whot)
and a maintenance bu-
ilding will be compl-
eted within a few
weeks.
The park will be op-
en to the public in
1965, with one picnic
area and about 115 ca-
mpsites available.
The Dept. is justly
concerned about the
pellet guns which have
found their way into
the hands of 8 and 9
year old kids.
They are said to be
just as dangerous as
the familiar old .22.
They now come under
the Gane & Fish Act of
Ontario, and one must
be at least 15 to hold
a permit to carry. The
safe hunter test must
be taken too, so donft
let the kids fool ar-
ound with a pellet gun
anymore. It is not a
toy, and could bring

another unusual "first

at the Martin's store.
Tom's father owned
the Commercial Hotel(

The Baileys also kept
horses and they had
two colts King and Qu-

will on the hotel pro-
