Villagers Enjoy
New Year's Ball
The village hall
was really "jumping"
New Years Eve when the
villagers had themsel-
ves a ball in the lit-
eral sense. About 200
persons took part in
the jollifications.
The dance was spons-
ored by a number of
public-spirited folk
to raise fundw for the
youth organizations of
the village. Sapport
of the event from the
neighboring townships
was outstanding.
Hartman's band was
tirelessly on the job
from 9.00 p.m.to 2.00
a.ra At midnight hats
and favors showered
from the balcony- and
balloons drifted down
from the ceiling.
Convenors for the
evening were Mr. end
Yrk:,. K. Brandon; Mr.
and Mrs. T. Penhale;
Mr. and Mrs. J. Arm-
strong; Kr. and Mrs.
G. Merner; Mr. and Mrs
J. Lindsay and Mr.and
Mrs. J. Mercer.
The proaeeds ofthe
affair. amounting to
$ 104.00, will be div-
ided equally among Bay
field Scout, Cub, Gui-
de and Brownie groups.
