Tractor-hauled stone-picker on display at a fair. A group
of Saskatchewan farmers recently got together to buy a
stone-picker under the Farm Machinery Syndicates Credit
Act (story inside).
SCUBA gear is just one of many athletic costumes worn by Al Hamel
during the summer in his role as host of CBC radio's Saturday after-
noon potpourri of sports, The Summer Sound of Sports. The series
offers live coverage of many important sporting events --- from judo
to horse racing, and skeet shooting to boxing; plus a roundup of the
latest scores and results, and regular sports features from North
America and abroad.
Cubs-Brownies
Ball Game
At Bayfield
Bayfield Brownies and Cubs
cheered on by leaders and par-
ents met in a hotly contested
baseball game on Tuesday
night.
The game had been played
over many a dinner table be-
fore it took place, as one
mother remarked, having a
child on each side, refrained
from comment. One small girl
volunteered the information be-
fore the game, "We'll beat the
pants off 'em"! Alas! The final
score: Cubs 17, Brownies 16.
The greatest mllitary tattoo
ever staged in Canada, nearly
2,000 troops, will be held dur-
ing Expo 67.
