morning service at the Baptist
Church on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Grime,
Derek and Barry, Guelph, were
with their parents for the
weekend; Mr. Grime returned
on Friday from Lakefiekl Col-
lege, near Peterborough, where
he attended his Teaching Fed-
eration's Workshop.
Terry Galletz, Preston, is vis-
iting his aunt, Mrs. J. B. Car-
son and family.
Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Arkell,
Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Arkell, and
Mrs. Robert Heath recently vis-
ited relatives and friends in
Walkerton, Teeswater and For-
mosa, before going on to Ux-
bridge, wheie they spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan
Leadley. Mr. and Mm. Reg. Ar-
kell left on Thursday for B.C.

the cushion that is to be shown

nual bazaar, Oct. 5, will be
made next meeting.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bauer
hosted at a dinner party for
relatives and friends on Mon-
day at the Albion Hotel; pre-
sent were his mother, Mrs.
Bauer, Sr.; his sister, Mary;
Mr. and Mrs. J. Murphy, Gode-
rich; Mrs. F. Erb and John
Wintermyer.

Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Kendall

eral weeks is Eugene Buss of
Kiel, Germany. Mr. Busz, a Kiel
University student, is a member
of "SE'R,VAS", a worlduwide or-
ganization of which Mr. Path

turning to Germany and wishes
to learn as much as possible
about the countries he visits
and also to perfect his English.
Mr. and Mrs. John A. Nivens
of Goderich celebrated their
diamond wedding anniversary
with a family dinner party on
Saturday, August 20, at The
Albion Hortdl, Bayfield.
Mr. Nivens was born in Dun-
gannon, but has lived in Gode-
rich all his life, where he was a
custom tailor.
Mrs. Nivens, the former Ella
Burnside, • was born in Varna,
and attended Bayfield Public
School.
The couple had six children.
of whom four are living: Clay-
ton, Goderich; Mrs. H. 0. (Aud-
rey) Buffourd, California; Mrs.
Gordon (Isa) Muir. Seaforth,
and Mrs. A. F. (Shirley) Whit-
aker, Ajax.
John and Ella Nivens have
15 grandchildren and eight
great grandchildren.
They were married in the
Presbyterian Church, Bayfield,
and their bridesmaid, Mrs.
Cameron Tweedie of Goderich,
was also present at ,the dinner
on Saturday.
Among the, telegrams recei-i-
ed were one from Prime Min-
ister Pearson and another
from Premier J. Robarts.
