Channel, Newfoundland, was
the guest speaker at both
morning and evening services.
Mr. and Mrs. Gibson are at
present spending their vacation
in this area.
The subject of the speaker's
morning sermon was a "Grac-
ious Church" and he pointed
out that only "grace", the free
and undeserved gift of God,
can produce a "gracious" peo-
ple and a "gracious" church.
Choir Sang Anthems
The church chair, under the
leadership of Mrs. Hess, led
the worship of song and also
rendered two anthems. Ted
Dunn sang the solo parts.
For his evening sermon, Mr.
Gibson chose the subject, the
"Beauty of the People of God",
basing his thought on the
Psalmist's words, "Let the
beauty of the Lord be upon us
and establish Thou, the work
of our hands upon us."
The choir again delighted the
congregation with two anthems.
Mrs. Pease contributed a solo,
"The Lord is my Shepherd" to
the setting "Crimond."
