F.S. tfn Sudden Attack Claims Cree Cook; Funeral Saturday James Cree Cook of Ontario Street, Clinton, died Thursday morning. October 15th. of a sudden heart attack. He was born in Clinton on June 2nd, 1887, son of Marg- aret and Fred Cook. He mar- ried the former Myrtle Olive Ross on February 13, 1909. He had worked for 8 years with the Department of Highways and worked also for the Piano Factory and as a floor finisher. He was a lifelong resident of Clinton and a member of Wes- ley-Willis United Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge AF & AM No. 84, Clinton. The funeral service was held in the Beattie Funeral Home on Saturday, October 17th, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. C. G. Park of Wesley-Willis United Church officiating. The inter- ment was in Clinton Cemetery. Pall-bearers for the late Mr. Cook were Clarence Neilans, William Cook, Frank Cook and William Hearn, all of Clinton. and William Bell and Chester Velette, both of Detroit. Flow- er-bearers were Ross McEwan, Leslie Pearson, Jim Jenkins, Frank Mutch and Robert Mac- Vean. He is survived by his widow, his son Lorne of Chicago, his daughter. Mrs. Lloyd (Norma) Stephens of Toronto, and his brother, Mansfield Cook of Bright, Ontario. His son Stew- art of Stratford predeceased him in April of 1962. Friends attended the funeral from Detroit, Flint, Mich., To- ronto, Stratford, London and Lexington, Kentucky. 0— Credit Union Directors Advise 41/2 % Dividend A 4% per cent dividend on Shares was recommended at the October meeting of the Board of Directors of Clinton Community Credit Union. Provided this recommenda- tion is ratified by the member- ship at their annual meeting on November 17th, 4 1 2 per cent will be paid on the minimum monthly balance of members' share accounts; Life Insurance is also included on savings up to $2,000. Members with over $2,000 in Shares may, if they wish, leave any amount in multiples of at least $100.00 with the Credit Union on a time note for a period of not less than two years, and receive 5% per cent per annum. The fiscal year ending on September 30th was the best in the history of the Clinton Ccinmiunity Credit Union. Share capital passed the million mark and total assets should reach 1% million by January 1, 1965. Tuesday, November 17Th at 8 p.m., is the date set for the annual meeting in the Agricul- tural Board Rooms. At this time members will vote on the disposition of $57,823.60 profit for the past year. 0 Bumper-riding drivers often lose time, also.
