A STATEI,n r of the number Of im-
migrant arrivals and departures at the
several agencies in Ontario for eleven
mouths ending November 80th, 1891,
shows that the total number of arrivals
was 48,787, against 51,816 for the
corresponding period of 1890. Of this
number 40,765 came via the United
States, and the remaining 8022 via the
St. Lawrence and Halifax. Ih 1890
the proportion to come via Halifax was
sopnewhat greater than in 1891. Of
the total number of arrivals, 9922 re-
euained in the Province, being about
the same proportion as in 1890, . Of
this number 5080 were English, 1194
Irish, 1316 Scotch, 626 German and
6a8 American.
Presbytery of Maitland.
The Presbytery of Maitland met at

of the pastoral charge of the Congre-
gation of Ashfield. The Congregation
