And Santa Claus, be came last night,
With (medics, wits and terve,
And ori 1 the pretty things he brought
To little girla and boys.
There was a pamphlet sent around,
Tliat said he was outdone,
But as I read it o'er area o'er,
I said, "Ohl yes, like fun."
He's sure to come on Christmas eve,
No matter how it blows,
He likes good girls and careful boys,
And °area not who it knows.
I'm sure he must be very old,
His hair must be so gray,
He gives so much to little folks,
And never looks for pay.
I wonder, where he gets it all;
13e must have a grand store;
But how does he get in the house,
And alums not a door? .
Some say that he comes down the pips,
But was he ever seen?
I don't believe a bit of it,
His goods are all so clean.
I know he comes arouud each years
And gives the girls the dolls,
And when dividiug other things,
He gives the boys the balls.
He surely must be very rich,
In silver and in gold,
How many reindeers he does keep,
We never have been told.
