Mrs. Blob Cronin
On Wednesday evening Santa
Claus came round the little vil-
lage of Dublin with bags of candy
for all the little children. The
children's hearts were filled with
joy to see this great old man who
would come again on Friday night
to fulfill their fondest dreams
with those trucks, 'dolls, guns,
trains and many other things
they thought they should have.
Also on Wednesday evening
another wonderful event took
place. A number of high school
students from Dublin, while com-
ing home on the bus decided to
sing Christmas C arols that even-
ing in town. About 8:30 approx-
imately 20 students and their
smaller brothers and sisters
came to our door and many
others in town and sang Christ-
mas carols outside in the cold
and windy weather. These young
'people deserve a great deal of
credit. They not only opened
our eyes to an old tradition,
which in this modern day and
age we _seem to have forgotten,
but they revealed the true
Christmas spirit. They did not
want paymeitt for their lovely
singing but instead wanted to
bring a little happiness to every-
one. Maybe they have the right
idea for Christmas giving--your
gift does not have to be big or
expensive or unique- -these young
people gave a gift we all can
afford • and that is a gift of un-
selfishness from the •heart. A
little kindness and love for their
fellow man.
On behalf of the many doors
you knocked on, may we say
thank you and please come again
next year.
