In the closing weeks of 1071
Canadians were faced with a
dismal outlook for the future
because of Britain's entry into
• the Common Market and the im-
posing of the 10% surcharge by
the United States. President
Richard Nixon has new demon-
strated goodwill to all men by
lifting the surcharge, thereby
ending the monetary crisis.This
truly was a significant gift to
Canada and many other countries.
10 It would indeed have been a
