- That we issue Building Per-
mits to: H. VanBaaren for shed
and garage, lot 32, con. 9; and Bell
Telephone for foundations. for a
mast and adjoining building,
Lot 20, Con. 1, Hyllett Township.
- That we instruct the Clerk to
prepare a by-law to impose a
special annual drainage rate on
the following properties: A Volk,
Lot 31, Con. 10; B. Haverkam2,
Lot 25, Con. '7; R. Gross, Lot 36,
Con. 11; C.Dalton otl&
Con. 10; M. Br on, ot16, Con.
2; for, the following amounts -
1500.00; 900.00; 1100.00;13700.00
and 2200.00 respectively.
- That we instruct the Clerk
to prepare By-Laws and to issue
debentures on the Tile Drain
Loans for the amount of $19,460.
- That we engage and give
R.M.Dawson authorization to do
what Engineering and Surveying
is necessary on road between
Lots 10 & 11, Con. 1 & 2, De-
velopment Road #1087.
That we close the Court
of Revision on the Gerrit Drain
Extension there being no appeals.
- That we make a grant of
$500.00 to the Londesboro Hall
Board.
- That a by-law to impose
special annual drainage rates
upon land in respect of which
money is borrowed under the
Tile Drinage Act, 1971.

The Annual Christmas fair, an event which gives the
residents an opportunity to do some Christmas shopping,
was held on Monday. Each resident is given a credit slip
to select gifts from the several tables which are arranged
in the craft room with tea and cookies served in the
Auditorium. This project Is sponsored and arranged by
the Women's Auxiliary with contributions from various
organizations. ••
Members of the C.N.I.B.° were guests at the regional
Christmas party which was held on Wednesday evening in the
Mitchell United Church. One hundred and twenty-five
members and their escorts from Huron and Perth attended
the dinner which included' turkey and all the trimmings
followed by a sing-song and musical numbers by the Stratford
Barber Shoppers.
Miss Laura Inglis of Clifford arranged and directed a
program presented by the Hi. C. group of McIntosh United
Church on Family Night. Mr. George Harkness introduced
the numbers which included a guitar duet by Wendy and
Debbie Busley, accordian solos by Barbara Harkness,
a two-act play "Wanted a Housekeeper", several Christmas
numbers and a sing-a-long by the chorus of twenty young
people. Miss Frances Inglis; a member of the McIntosh
U.C.W. expressed the appreciation of the residents. The
Family night program will be held on Wednesday at 7 P.M.
December 22• instead of the regular Thursday night for next
week only.

The regular meeting of Hullett
Township Council was held at the
home of the Road Superintendent.
Four councillors were present
and in the absence of the reeve
council named Councillor Joe
Bunking to preside utT1 the
arrival of Reeve Flynn.
Motions adopted included:
- That we consent to the
severance of Pt. Lot 26, Con .11,
placing the restriction of no con-
centrated agricultura I projects
be carried on.
- That By-Law #1971-12 be
passed, being a new borrowing

ada application and that the ap-
plicant be required to show need
for increases to maintain exist-
ing standards of service".
- That we accept a tile drain
loan application and that the
application and that the.proceeds
from sale of debentures in th
amount of $2,200.00 be for-
warded.

Victoria and Grey Trust Com-
pany reports fOr its year ended
October 31, 1971 a net profit of
$3,520,612 or $2.34 per common
share. This includes the com-
pany's 98% equity in the earnings
of its subsidiary, The Lambton
Loco and Investment Company
and compares with a restated
1970 net profit of $2,543,939
or $1.64 per common share.
Trust Deposits and Guaran-
teed Investment Certificates now
total $5'10,504,000 which is an
increase of 04,554,000 from the
company's position October 31,
1970.
Investments in mortgages in-
creased by ' $86,012,000 to
$438,109,000 during the same
period. Estates, trusts and agen-
cies increased from $58,300,000
to $66,500,000. _
The Directors declared a
dividend on the preference shares
of 66.875 cents per share pay-
able February 1, 1972 to share-
holders of record January 14,
1972 and a dividend on the pres-
ent common shares of 30 cents
per share payable December 15,
1971 to shareholders of record
December 3, 1971. The former
quarterly dividend on the common
shares was 25 cents.
