In Industrial Hockey action
on Sunday night the Kings' ran
their unbeaten string to three
in as-many games, and the Stars
gained tole possession of sec-
ond place two points behind the
Kings.
In the early game the Stars
came from behind a 3-1 deficit
to edge the Flyers 4-3, Earl
Gray's goal with less than five
minutes remaining in the game
proved to be the winner. Bill
Teall, Bill Muir and Dave Broome
scored the other goals for the
Stars. • ,
Dale Kennedy fired a pair
and Ken McIlwain one, as the
Flyers went down to their third
straight defeat. Both goaltenders
Mbntgomery for the Flyers and
Osborne of the Stars, came up
with several key saves. The
Flyers picked up 6 of ten penal-
ties including a misconduct , to
Kennedy.
In the late game the Kings
got' a two goal performance from
veteran Art Strong enroute to
their 3-1 victory over the Blues.
Jim Mcllwain scored the other
goal. 'for the Kings, Jack Groo-
thuis fired the 16ne goal for
the Blues who jumpeji into a
1-0 lead in the first period.
Again both goaltenders Cooper
(Kings) and Huard (Blues) turned
in key Performances. The gams
Was Huard's first of the season.
There was only one penalty cal-
led in , the fast skating game.

At last we have settled down
to steady curling. With the
weather so mild at the first,
of our season it was pretty hard
to gbt ice to curl 'on.
This year a new league was
formed by the business girls
who are curling Tuesday
evenings.
Our first draw for all 'events
is fast' coming to an end with
the rinks neck and neck coming
home. I will keep you posted
regarding play-offs.
A rink of business girls went
to Guelph last week. They won
one, tied one,' and lost one.
On Dec. 2 an entry of Bob
Wilson, Dave Cornish, Bill.
Campbell. and Gord Betitten-
miller, MZk in the Imnerial Oil
Spiel at Sarnia, coming home
with the Dow Chemical Co.Tro-
phy. Congratulations boys. We

On Wednesday a rink of Bob
Wilson, Kay Sharpe, Bill Camp-
bell Jr. and Shardn Wilson at-
tended the play-off at Teeswater
for the 'Rose Bowl winning the
district of 13B.
On Saturday the mixed events
committee had a local spiel with
one full draw playing two games
with a dance following. ThiS is
the first of several events they
have planned for the future. The
next is a double draw on Boxing

at the arena Thursday evening.
It was the annual youthappre-
ciation meeting.
Trophies were presa ed by
Ron Broome to the moSt valuable
player, Joe Czerwinski, Jr.; by
Bob Read; air of skates, to
Chris Ring, the most improved
player and by Joe Czerwinski,
Sr., to Doug Anstett, most goals
scored during the last season.
The meeting was presided
over by Optimist President Ken
C amnbell.
Guest speaker for the even-
ing was Constable Dave Ham-
mond, of the RCMP Drug squad.
Constable Hammond spent eight
years on the Metropolitan Toi-
onto Police force, five of those
with the morality squad and has
been with the RCMP for the last
three' years.
Constable Hammond went into
detail about the many drugs avail-
able on the illegal market today,
stressing the potential dangers
