Patterson of Seaforth.
Mrs. James Clark was a
patient in Seaforth ,Community
Hospital for a few days this past
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bietby
of Kelfield, Sask, have been holi-
.daying , with Mr. and Mrs.
Emmerson Mitchel and family
and other relatives of the Brus-
sels area.
We are glad to report that
W. J. Leeming was able to re-
turn home from St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, where he had
been a patient following surgery
on his hip.
Miss Brenda Bewley, London,
spent the week end at the home
of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.
Bewley.
Sunday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Torrence Dundas were Mr.
and Mrs. Wolfe Stutz of Waterloo
and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Dundas of
Mississauga.

welcomed the members and-
guests to the monthly meeting of
the Women's institute held in
the Walton Community Hall on
Wednesday evening. opening with
a, thought on ',Remembrance"
followed by the Institute Ode, the
Mary Stewart Collect awl
Canada, with Mrs, w. H. Hum-
phries' assisting at the piano.
The members answered the roll
call o My Best Resolution".
Mrs. Ken McDonald read a
poem, "Our Resolutions"..
Mrs. Jas. Nolan introduced
the guest speaker of the evening.
Mrs. John A. Perrie of near
Cranbrook who had some of her
oil paintings on display and
showed her equipment used in the
art which she does In oil. Mrs.
Perrie says Art is done in dif-
ferent forms. and she has been
interested in drawing since her
younger days and now has taken
up oil painting which sitieteaches
a class of 21 at night school in
the Listowel High School, Mrs.
K. McDonald thanked Mrs.eerrie
and presented her with a gift on
behalf of the Institute.
The business followed with
Mrs. W. Humphries reading the
minutes and giving the
treasurer's report. The regular'
and penny for friendship collec-
tions were received by the sec-
retary treasurer. Corres-
ponilence was read, which in-
eluded a letter of thanks from
the Historical Society to the
Institute for their hospitality,
It was decided not to have any
more card parties till the first
of the New Year.
The December meeting will
begin with a Pot Luck Supper
with the committee in charge,
Mrs. Harold Bolger, Mrs.Clar-
core Martin. Mrs, Jan t'an Vliet
Jr. and Mrs. Dave Watson. The
District president, Mrs. Chas.
maulers will be the guest
speaker. It was moved to buy
a gift for the shut-ins, names
are to be brought to the next
meeting with Mrs . Geo.Blake
and Mrs. Laverne Godkin look-
ing after it. It will be the
Sunshine Sister Gift exchange
at the December meeting.
Mrs. W. H. Humphries gave
a full outline of her two days
spent at the Guelph area con-
vention last month.
The meeting closed with the
Queen and the Institute Grace
was sung with Mrs. Laverne
Godkin as pianist,
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Earl Watson, Mrs. Allan Mc-
Call. Mrs . Ray Huettier and
Mrs. Gerald Watson.
UNITS M T
The 8th and 16th Unit held
their November meeting in the
basement of Duff's United Church
on Tuesday evening' with all
units and others as guests.
The Scripture No. '709 in the
HYlfmary was read by Mrs. Geo.
McCall followed by Prayer.'•God
of our Fathers" was sung. with
Mrs. Jim Fritz as pianist. Mrs.
Don Fraser read a poem en-
titled ''What Counts". Dena
and Debbie \Vey sang a number.
The offering was received by
Mrs. Doug. Eraser and the copper
money was taken by leaders.
Mr. Alvin Roth from Mission
Services of London 'was guest
speaker and was introduced by
Mrs. Harold Bolger. Mr.Roth's
son. Keith, showed a film and

Mr. Roth spoke about the work
of Hie Mission. A lady who
had come with them and had
lived at the Mission for 18
months told of her experience and
how she had been helped by the
Mission. She is planning to be
a hairdresser.s Mrs. Don
McDonald thanked Mr. Roth for
coming and presented him with a
gift. The bale which had been
packed in October, was taken
back with them to the Mission.
ACHIEVEMENT DAY
The _Achievement Day for the
project Dairy Fare" was held
at the Clinton High School on
Saturday with two girls from
the Walton Clubs receiving their
County Honors which is a corn=
pletion of six clubs in 4-H home-
making. They were Gail Traviss
and Heather McDonald, The
morning, activities included the
judging with all girls taking part
and in the afternoon Institute
members. !Pothers and guests-
were present for the program..
Walton I Club had a skit "Snack
Bar'' with all members taking
part. Walton, Il an exhibit.
Milk's the Greatest" with Pat
McDonald as commentator and
Walton III also had an exhibit
' Many Forms of Milk" and
Marion McCallum was the com-
mentator.
The leaders for 'these three
Walton clubs were, Mrs. Allan
Searle, Mrs. Gerald Watson,
Mrs. Don Nolan, Mrs, Don Mk-
Dunald, Mrs. Harold McCallum
and Mrs. W. J. Leeming.

holidays, visiting with friends
at Golden Valley.

ton Spent the week end at the home
of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J.
Leerning.
Mrs. Allan Searle and Mrs.
Allan McCall spent last Monday
and Tuesday in Toronto where
they attended the Royal Winter
Fair and were guests of the
Ontario Department of Agricul-
ture and Food at breakfast at the
Lord Sitficoe Hotel, their over-
night accommodation. Others
attending were Mrs. Russell
Good, Mrs. Harry Watkins and
Mrs.G.McGregor of Londesboro,
Mrs. Keith Webster,Hlyth, Mrs.

by Jean Leiper. It was decided
that each member would bring
a Christmas gift valued at $1.00
to the next meeting December
15. Gay Salverda showed pic-
tures of her recent trip to
Holland.
The November meeting of the
Burns U.C.W. was held at the
home of Mrs. Margaret Taylor
on Wednesday afternoon with 22
members present. Mrs. George
Smith opened the meeting with
."Thought for Today". Hymn
"Come to: the Saviour", and
prayer by Margaret Taylor. The
Scripture reacting was given by
Gladys Leiper. Rev. McDonald
continued with Study on the Gospel
of John. e Recipe for Friendship"
