which has won the League champ-

ton spent the weekend at the home
of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
John McAsh.
Mr. and Mrs. Nick Whyte,
David, Crystal and Brian of Sea-
forth visited Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Fred McClymont.
THE EXPLORERS
The Explorer Group met last
Tuesday evening with twelve
members present. The presi-
dent, Bev Cantelon opened the
meeting. Scripture lesson was
read by Tana Chuter and prayer
was led by Janice Webster. The
roll call was answered by dra'w-
-ing a picture of the Liberian
flag. The offering was taken up
by Janice Webster. Mrs. Eric
Chuter was in charge of the craft
period. The president closed the
meeting with the Explorer
prayer.
A representative of the Can-
adian Bible Society will have
charge of the service , in the
United Church on Sunday, Nov-
ember 28. A canvass ,of the
community will take place early
in December.

ing Club held a successful dessert
euchre and bridge Wednesday
afternoon and evening: In the

Cyril Snowdon, 71, of Sea-
forth, died in Goderich Friday
after a lengthy illness.
A lOng time resident of Sea-
forth, he attended school here,
He and his brothers were pub-
lishers of the former Seaforth
News. Until his illness forced
his retirement two years ago
he continued In the business,
Seaforth News Printers.
Born in Kincardine, he was
the son of the late Rev, and
Mrs. James F. Snowdon.
Surviving are one sister,
Gwendolyn, Exeter; two broth-
ers, Oswald H. and Gerald IL,
both of Seaforth.
The body was 'at the R.S.
Box funeral home in Seaforth
where service was held on Sat-
urday at 2 p.m. Rev. Stanley
Sharpies officiated. The remains
were cremated.
JOHN McNICHOL
John McNichol of Blyth passed
away in Huronview on October
31, 1971 after a long illness.
lie was in his 79th year.
He leaves to mourn his pas-
sing his wife, the former Annie
Hutchison Nesbit, one son Aubrey
of Morris township, and four
step-children, Mrs. Mary Gray,
Weston, Mrs. Wm. Govier of
Erio, Frank Nesbit of Stratton
and Lawrence Nesbit of Inger-
soll, also 22 grandchildren.
The funeral was held from the
Tasker funeral home on Nov-
ember 3 with burial in Brussels
cemetery. The Rev, C. Wittick
SAM DICKSON
Sam Dickson, who practised
law in Edmonton and Fort Sas-
katchewan for 67 years, died
Nov. 5 at 95.
Mr. Dickson was a vigorous
proponent for restoring historic
Ford. Edmonton and last year
was made the fort's first hon-
orary mayor.
A native of Seaforth, the son
of a pioneer family, Mr. Dick-
son in his youth was a well
known athlete playing on several
championship Seaforth teams.
While health permitted he was a
frequent visitor to town.
He graduated from the
University of Toronto in 1899
and from Osgoode Hall with his
law degree in 1902.
Coming west in 1902, he was
admitted tolhe bar of the North-
west Territories, of " which
Alberta was a part.
Mr. Dickson went to Hamil-
ton in 1906 to marry Evelyn
ward. They returned to Ed-
monton to make their perma-
nent home.
He was a founder of the Ro-
tary Club in Edmonton, and be-
came its second, president. He
was „a member of the Edmonton
public school board, president of
the Old Timers' Association, a
former chairman of the city's
historical board, and, a 'president
of the Historical Society of
Alberta.

Noriel V. StiMoTe, '71, of
Egmondville, died in Seaforth
Community IfAsPita4 Friday after
an illness of two weeks.
Bern in McKillop township,
he was the son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Stimone. He
attended schools in Seaforth and
Mitchell. He was married• in Wingliam In 1932 to the former
Nettie M. Homuth, They farmed
in McKiilop Twp. until retiring
to Egmondville in 1963.
Surviving are his wife; one
brother, Alvin, of Stratford; two
sisters, Mrs. Earl (Myrtle)-Mac-
ham, Stratford; Mrs. Kenneth
(Ialeen) McFarlane, Listowel.
The body was at the R.S.
Box funeral home where ser-
vices were held Monday at 2
p.m. ,with Elder Alex J. Smith
officiating. Burial followed in
Brussels cemetery, the pall-
bearers being: Elmer Dennis,
William Roe, Earl McNaughton,
Stanley Hillen, Elmer Stephen-
son and Charles Eyre. Flower-
bearers were Robert McMichael,
Richard Corlett, Randel Corlett,
Glen McNichol and David Tepple-
men.
