Tie offering was received and wag, dedicated by Mrs. J. R. Jeff- erson. The roll call-''Remem- brance" was answered by 13 members. Mrs. Will Miller pre- sented the topic "A Woman in the Bible" and reviewed the book of Esther. The president, Mrs. M. Dow conducted •business when. ar- rangements were discussed for the 'concert by a choir from Kit- chenet next Wednesday. Mrs. Mc- Kaig reported 39 cards, letters and visits to the sick. "Prayers Are Asked" from Glad Tidings was read by Mrs. McKaig. Mrs. .1 a ? A small demonstration was held in downtown Seaforth Wednesday, November 3, against the Amchitka Nuclear experiment. Demonstrators armed with.placards denouncing the Nixon adminis- tration and the planned tests blocked traffic momentarily and paraded at the main intersection of the town, The protest failed to achieve desired results as the tests were carried out Saturday on schedule. Club men and Society personnel got to- gether to explore ways and means of marking 50 years of service in which many thousands of handi- capped Ontario youngsters have been aided, The Society started out in 1922 with 10 clubs looking after 36 children. Today, 230 affiliated clubs are now looking after 14,500 children each year. Service club representatives reported on local crippled child- ren programs. Service Clubs represented Were: Hayfield Liqns, Blyth Lions, Brussels Lions, Clinton Lions, Exeter Lions, Goderich Lions, Grand 'Bend Lions, Listowel Rotary, Lucknow Dist, Lions, St. Mary's Rotary, Seaforth Lions, Stratford Rotary, Wingham Lions, and Zurich Lions.
