guest speaker,, Dr. Chas. Toll,
who took the group on a trip he
made in 1947 on the "Nescopie"
along with medical doctors and
optometrists. Braving ice bergs
and cold, they set up clinics for
the Eskimos along the route until
their ship was wrecked on rocks.

ing trip to Lake Nipissing.
Mrs. Jack Ryan is recuper-
ating from surgery performed at
Seaforth. Community Hospital.
Attending the funeral of the
late Frank Murray in Detroit
on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs.
Don Moylan, Mrs. Bill Kinahan,
minutes ,and reports, the devo-
tional was , in charge of Mrs.
Roy McGonigle. ,,The Lord Is
My Shepherd" was sung and the
23rd Psalm read responsively.
Miss Mae Smith read an excel-
lent meditation telling of the life
of the shepherds and what David
was thinking When he wrote this
Psalm. Mrs. McGonigle closed
with prayer. Lunch was served
by Mrs. Forbes' group.
Visitors at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Hoepfner on Sun-
day were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gunt-
ner and family of Stratford.

CWL Meets
The C.W.L. of St. James
church met with Mrs. J. Maloney
presiding. Members displayed
interesting gifts and ideas for the
Christmas bazaar to be held
November 27th.
Mans were finalized for a 50th
anniversary of the League in
Seaforth, to he celebrated with
a dinner next Sunday. Mrs.
Maloney gave an enthusiastic
report on the Deanery meeting
in Zurich on October 27th.
Parish visitors for the month
are Mrs. Jack Case and Mrs.
Peter Jansen. The mystery prize
was won by Mrs. Wm McMillan.

their leaders who paraded from
the Legion Home to the Church
on Nelson Street, in wet blustery
The parade -was led
by the Mitchell Legion Band,
Colour Party with President Wil-
liam Murphy and Sergeant-at-
Arm s, Alex Ellens.
With the members of the con-
gregation the church was filled to
capacity with the Colour Party
flags placed at the front of the
church. David Murtha accom-
panied the singing 'of 'several
hymns at the organ, and then
Last Post and .Reveille were
sounded by Clare French, leader
of the band.
Msgr. Adams spoke of the
" sacrifice made by so many men
and women and pointed out that
we must remember that the power
of God is really at work in our
midst and we should work with
