Commencement exercises were held at Seaforth District
High School, Friday evening, when honor graduation diplomas

FUNERAL
WELDON MAYNARD TYNDALL
Weldon Maynard Tyndall died'
at his hOme in Londesboro on
October 22, 1971. He was • 51
years of age.
Born in Tuckersmith Towhr
ship on May 30, 1920 he was the
son of the late. Fred and Myrtle
Tyndall.
He married the former Alma
Hoggart in June 1940. He was
co-owner of the Lendesboro
Locker Service for 20 years
and previous to tt),at farmed in
Hullett and Goderich townships.
. He was a member of the Lond-
esboro United Church and past
master of Hullett Lodge AF and
AM and member of Clinton
Orange Lodge.
Surviving besides his wife
are one brother, Bruce of R.R.
3, Clintoi and one sister, Mrs.
George (Doris) Wilson of Varna
and nieces and nephews. -
Funeral services took place
Monday, October 25 from the Ball
Funeral Home, Clinton with the
r Rev. Stanley McDonald of Lon-
desboro officiating. Interment
was in Clinton Cemetery. 'Pall-
bearers were Art Colson, Gordon
—Radfoid, Dave Anderson, James
McEwing, Murray , Ligson and
Cliff Saundercock. Flowerbear-
ers were Gordon Jenkins, Bill
Tyndall, Bob Watkins and Ken-
neth McVittle. Friends and rela-
tives attended the funeral from
Niagara Falls, Toronto and
Arcona as well as the local area.-

Clarence Down, of Exeter,
was the guest speaker at the
November meeting of Seaforth
Women's Institute, held at the
Orange Hall, with. about 75 mem-
bers and guests present. Mr.
Down, who makes travelling a
hobby, shared his recent trip
to Alaska with an enthusiastic
audience. Travelling by air, bus
and boat, the group spent 23 days
going up through the Peace River
District and then north, visiting
several places of interest. They
found much beautiful scenery
and many modern buildings,
returning by British Columbia.
Mr. Down, with his excellent
slides and commentary, made the
trip very real.
He was introduced by Mrs.
Wilf. Coleman, who chaired the
program, and thanked by Mrs.
Gordan Papple. Also present
were a youthful musical group,
"The Silver Strings" from the
Walton area, comprising the
Misses Linda Godkin, Beth Mc-
Nichol and Fay Dalton and Mr.
Ray McNichol, who entertained
with several selections. They
were thanked by Mrs. James
Keys.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Burke of
Apsley, Ontario, visited with Mr.
and Mrs. W. L. Mellis last week.

memorial service in honor of
Remembrance Day. The roll call
was "Name a good exercise and
demonstrate it". A donation was
made to the, Children's Aid
Christmas fund. A penny sale
was conducted by Mrs. Arnold
Taylor, assisted by Mrs. Lorne
Lawson and Mrs. W. Coleman.
Those in charge of the pro-
gram for the annual Public Rela-
tions program were Mrs. Wilf.
Coleman, Mrs. Arnold Taylor,
and Mrs. Ken Campbell, with
lunch convened by Mrs. Wm.
Wilson, Mrs...Gordon Elliott and
Mrs. Bruce Coleman.
visited his sister, Mrs. Hazel
Long.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Burke,
Apsley, Mr. W. Mellis, Mrs.
John Barnard of Exeter yisited
in London.
Hazel Long has gone to
Owen Sound to spend the winter.
Mr. Tom Munroe received
"word of the sudden death of his
brother John of Sarnia from a
heart attack. The funeral was
held Tuesday,

Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Ahrehs,

Toronto visited Mr, and Mrs.
Wilfred Ahrens during the week-
end.
Mrs. Edwin Rock is visiting
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Aitchison
and family at Niagara Falls.
Misses Tamely and Tracey
Beuermann spent the weekend
with their grandmother, Mrs.
Lavina Beuermann.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Beuer-
man accompanied Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Bennewies to visit relatives
in Sarnia, Windsor and Detroit
during the weekend.

The Lutheran Church Women
meeting opened with a good atten-
dance and eight visitors. with the
hymn "Now Thank We All Our
God" with. Mrs. Robert French
at the piano.
Mrs. Manuel Beuerman and
MrS. Reube, n.. Buuck were on
Topic title "Flowers in the Meyer
Bowl". Mrs, Earl Rock and Mrs.
Harold Elligsen sang "It is no
Secret What God' Can Do" with
Mrs., Gelorge Rock at the piano.
Mrs. Rock presided for the busi-
ness period. Secretary Mrs.
Albert Bauer read her report.
Mrs. Lloyd Prueter gave the
treasurer's report and Mrs. Ed-
win Scherbarth the Mission re-
port. Mrs. Ella Leonhardt offered
a Mission Prayer.
Mr. and Mrs. August Scher-
barth showed slides o f their
recent trip to Germany, Switzer-
land and Holland. The ladies have
catered to a bowling supper in
the ciaurch basement. Plans were
completed on a trip by bus to the
Royal Winter Fair on Nov-,
ember 17th.
The Christmas Social" is to
be held. beginning of December.
entertaining the husbands as
guests with Bornholm present-
ing the programme and Brod-
hagen the dinner. and the usual
exchange of gifts:
It was planned to visit with
Mr. and Mrs. Eli Rapien who
are patients at the Milverton
Nursing Home. On the occarion
of -their 70th wedding anni-
versary. Mr. Rapien is 95 years
and Mrs. Rapien is 93 years and
are former residents of Brod-
hagen. The group .also will visit
Mrs. Lena Hennewies who is a
patient at the Kilbarchan Nursing
Home in Seaforth. and provide
some entertainment for all the
patients there. Thank you cards
were read. Birthdays were re-
ported by Mrs. Oscar Young,
Mrs. Reuben Rapiers, Mrs. Harold
Elligsen and Mrs. Earl Rock.
