A very goOd crowd was on hand to see the Brewers end the series with Monkton three games to none as they posted a 16 - 3 victory Sunday night. Brewers had a 10-11ead in the 3rd inning and kept increasing as Monkton never really did, get untracked. In the series Brewers put together 38 hits for 38 runs against the opposition 20 hits and 12 runs. The World Series starts Saturday after some of the closest division races in repent history. The Montreal Expos, Canada's Major League team, finished out of the basement in their third season, (the Mets took 5 years). And all the local teams still active are playing in their final series. The Ladies industrial ball has stretched the final series to the limit as the Swingers evened that best-of-five affair at 2-2 on Tuesday night. The fifth and deciding game will be played next Tuesday at the Lions Park. If you haven't been following the league you've missed some pretty entertaining ball by some very pretty players. Remember, next Tuesday is your last chance. Weather permitting it should all be•over this time next week. Those of you who read this page regularly will be aware of the record of the Brodhagen Brewers. The team was eliminated from W.O.A.A.. play two weeks ago but is still active as they go for the Waterloo-Oxford champion- ship. They gained a berth in the finals by winning the straight games last week so if you want to. see some really good Intermediate Fastball, a short drive to Brodhagen will still give you the opportunity. And, as predicted, the final series of the Men's Indus- trial Fastball League is shaping up as a close one. The two teams, Mainstreet and the Mechanics are now tied at one apiece. This means at least two more games are necessary. One is scheduled for 8:30 tonight at the Lions Park and I expect the fourth game will .be played Monday night, but the holiday may interfere, so check with a member of one of the teams regarding the fourth game and the fifth, if it is necessary. By this time next week, baseball In the area should be finished and with local hockey at least a couple of months away the pickings for this column may get pretty scarce. If you have any ideas or knowledge of any area sports which could use some looking into, let me• know c/o The Huron Expositor. Brewers Defeat •, *Nile's of the Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club A.
