meeting of the Women's Mis-
sionary Society which was held
in the church Sunday Sohool roan).
Mrs. M. Lamond presided
and used' as the theme of the
program "Let us be Glad".
Readings were, read alternately
by the boys and girls. The roll
call was answered by naming an
animal mentioned in the Bible.
Mrs.. Calder McKaig reported
eleven cards and visits to the
sick."Lord I Want to lie aChrist-
ian" was sung by 'the children
with Marilyn Laing at the piano
and Mrs. T. L. Scott directing.
A filmstrip ,'The,Bible around
the World" was presented by
Mrs. M. Lamina and was intro-
chfeed with readings by Marilyn
Laing.

served a tasty lunch with the
children. assisting.

defeated by the Dublin Girls Juve-
niles (coach Larry Cook) 22 to 13.
The second game was between

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
The Dublin Women's Institute
recently went on a touring trip
to interesting and informative
areas. The first stop was at the
Fryfogel Inn which was a former
hotel. From there the nine ladies
chauffeured by Mrs. Charles
Friend drove to St. Anthony's
Roman Catholic Church which
was built in 1863. They then
went to St. Andrews Presbyterian
Church which was built in 1850
by the Auld Kirk Faction but has
not been in use for some years
except for an annual service in
June. ,
The Brocksden County School
Museum was the next stop and
this 'site brought back many
memories- ofolcislates-, books and
other school equipment.
Thq' Thomson :"Agricultural
Museum was the next and last
stop. This Museum is privately
run by the Thomson family and'
contains 7,000 items.
The ladies then went to the
Stratford park where they en-
joyed a picnic lunch and a short
business meeting was held.

Detroit, spent the weekend with
Mr. Ferg Horan.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ouellette
and Donald, Essex, spent the

spending a month in England,

Mrs. Michael Maloney and family
Stratford, were visiting with Mr.
and Mrs. Wilfred Maloney.
Mr. and Mrs. Michael MacRae
and Curt have taken up residence
in their new residence which they
purchased recently. Their home
was previously owned by the
late Miss Mary O'Connell.
I wish to thank all those who
have read or glanced over my
column which I have written for
the past two years.
I enjoyed reporting on local
activities which consisted of
sports, church groups, social
functions and the many visitors
who spent a few days with friends
or relatives in the community.
I wish the new correspondent
much success as I will no longer
be the Dublin correspondent after
the 1st of October.

S.F.M., of St. Marys, Ontario,.
celebrated mass at the funeral_
of Mrs. Mary McQuaid, Monday,
August 30, 1971, in St. Columban
Church, at 10 a.m.
Concelebrants were Rev.
Father George Marftell, Vice-
General; Pat Moore, John Gault,
and Fr. Dixon, all members of
the Scarboro Foreign Mission
Society, of Toronto.
The homily was delivered by
Father P. Oostveen, P.P., St.
Columban.
Present in the sanctuary were
Father E. Vietenheimer, Chap-
lain, Marian Villa; Father Gordon
Dill, P.P., Dublin; Father H.
Laragh, P.P., Seaforth; Father
E. Morris, P.P., Waterford, and'
Msgr. J. J. White of St. Colum-
ban.
Attending the funeral were
Father Ambrose McKinnon,
S.F.M., and Father Hugh
McDougall, S.F.M. of St. Vin-
cent's, West Indies.
The Christian Brothers were
represented by Brother Benedict,
Provincial, Toronto, Brother
Cyril, Brother Francis, Brother
Norbert, and Brother Mark, Sr.
John's School, Uxbridge, and
Brother Francis O'Reilly, Mon-
treal.
Sisters of St. Joseph from
Marian Villa and from Mount
St. Joseph, London and Ursu-
line Sisters from the Pines,
Chatham, and other Sister Rel-
igious, former parishioners :of
St. Columban, Dublin and Sea-
forth were in attendance.
Six grandsons were pall-
- bearers;--Jack Lane,__Ken_Lane,
Tom Burke, Ron Allin, Jos-
eph McQuaid, and Nortnan Mc-
Quaid.
Father P. Oostveen, P.P.,
St. Columban, conducted the
prayers at the graveside.
Following the graveside pray-
ers, the family , relatives and
Dianne Miller and Nancy
Templeman were guests of
Joanne and Jane Ross while
camping at Fainily Paradise with
their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alf
Ross and Grant this past week.
Miss Joanne Worden has re-
turned to her teaching duties at
Ottawa after spending the sum-
mer with her father Alvin Worden
and Bill.
Miss Darlene Templeman
attended the Presbyterian Young
People's Camp at Kintail on the
weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. -Bruce Eaton
and family, Orillta spent the
holiday weekend at their home in
the community.

A second meeting took place

September 25. It was decided to
call the group "The Dainty Dairy
Dillies". Mrs. Little explained
the following questions - What
basic proteins are in milk? What
food and how much is equal to
milk? and explained what each',
protein in milk doeS. Cord chow-
der and chip dip were made and

at their mother's funeral.
