The Clinton Christian Reform Church song service
which is held on the last Sunday evening each month
was well attended last Sunday. Dick Roorda led the
service assisted by Mr. Haverkamp.
Bonnie Storey of Seaforth, visitedlluronview last Monday
afternoon and danced some Irish jig's for the residents at
the old time music and dancing program.
The weather was "ideal on Wednesday for the, bus trip
to Goderich and area. The two buses with eighty residents
left Huronview at 1;30 arriving back at 5 P.M. with stops
at Les Jervis wild life sanctuary at Holmesville, Ben-
miller, Goderich Harbour and lighthouse point and over to
Hayfield by the 4th concession of Goderich Township to
view • the apple and peach orchards with a short stop at
Melaka and home by Brucefield.
There was a Scottish air at the Thursday. Family Night
program provided by the people 61 the Brucefteld area. •
There were Scottish dances by Karen McGregor and Sylvia
Wilson; piano solos by Bob',Wlson, Mrs. Henderson, Karen
McGregor; bag pipe numbers by Glenn McGregor; violin by
Adam Wilson; accordian by Linday Webster; vocal solos by
Mrs. Fred McGregor; a chorus of four girls, Debbie,
Sharon and Carla Brodie and Karen Davidson. Hugh Walker,
a native of Brucefield, thanked the entertainers on behalf of
the residents.

of Mrs. Moylan on Wednesday.
OffiCers elected are President,
Linda Albert; Vice President,
Donna Nolan; Secretary, Cathy
Murray; Treasurer, Gail Nolan;
Press Reporter. Pat Murray;
Leaders, Mrs. John Moylan and
Mrs. Tom Murray.
It was decided that each mem-
ber would give 250 to the club
to help with expenses. Leaders
held a discussion on the differ-
ent kinds of milk and cheese
and the importance of e ach.
Linda Albert, Caroline Maloney,
Joanne Swartz and Judy Dorsey
demonstrated how to make hot
chocolate. Mary Anne Van Bakel,
Anne Albert, Barbara Maloney
and Mary Beth Downey demons-
trated how to make grilled cheese
sandwiches.
The Huron-Perth Tubercu-
losis and Respiratory Dispase
Association plans to da Lung
Function Tests at the' Stratford
Fair. This was announced by
Mrs. Edith Fisher, Mitchell,
.Education Chairman of the organ-
ization at a recent meeting in
Seaforth. Routinereporls were
given by ,Mrs. Fisher, Rev.,
Garbutt Smith, Stratford, Mrs.
David Schenck, Seaforth, Tom
Leiper, Londesboro and Mr.
Lloyd Oodgson, Stratford. Presi-
dent Ivan Forsyth, Kippen, pre-
sided.
Mr. Smith saidandustries in
the area were being approached
systemically regarding lung
function testing of employees and
that four surveys already had
been completed. Mrs. Fisher re-
ported that the two bursary recip-
ients would be addressing
members in the near future and
that Mrs. Schenck and Mrs. Edith
Brothers, Stratford, who attended
the International Union Against
TB pleating InRtissia, would show
slides and give a travelogue to
members. Mrs. Schenck has
eight engagements to speak to
area groups but Mrs. Brothers
unfortunately, is hospitalized and
unable ,to participate for the time
being.
Mrs. Schenck said that Dr.
Norman Epstein, Director of
Allergies, St. Joseph's Hospital,
Honourable Charles Mac-

tation and Communications, has
announced a change in the depart-
ment's policy regarding pave-
ment lane markings which will
go into effedt next year to conform
with standards being adopted by
most Provinces and States in
North America.'
On two-lane highways the
centre line will be yellow and
pavement edge lines will be white.
On multi-lane undivided high-
ways the centre line will be yel-
low and lane markings and pave-
ment edge lines will be white.
On freeways and other divided
highways both lane markings and
pavement edge lines will be white.

FUNERAL
EDWARD WILSON ELLIOTT
Edward Wilson Elliott of
Clifiton died in Westminister
Hospital, London, Ontario, on
August 2$, 1971. He was 58
years of age.
He was born on March 17,
1913, in Clinton, the son of Geo.
H. Elliott and Bertha E. Graham.
Mr. Elliott was a well-known
auctioneer in the Clinton area for
many years. During the Second
World War he served overseas
--with-the -Canadia.a..F iref inter s.
Except for this period; he WiTS
a resident of Clinton all his life.
He was a member of Ontario
St. United Church and of branch
140, Royal Canadian Legion.
He is survived by one brother,
Dr. G. S. Elliott of Clinton and
two sisters,, Mrs. George (Jean)
Cooper of Ottawa and Mrs. Jack
(Edna) Little of Toronto.
Funeral services took place
from the Ball Funeral Home on
Aug. 27, with the Rev. A. J.
Mowatt officiating. Interment
was in Clinton cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold
Black,, Richard Fremlin, John
Deeves, George Yeats, Dick
Freeman and Danny Colquhoun.
Flowerbearers were Harry
Crich, Oscar priestap and
Stewart Dick.

their 25th wedding anniversary
and were given an anniversary
party at the Legion Hall by the
family.
Comrade Alvin Smale and his
wife also observed their 25th
wedding anniversary on Aug. 31st,
and were given a surprise party
by their friends on Friday, Sept.
3rd.
