peace time.
At the vacated base, standing
as tall, stately and as solid as
it was the day it was built 40
years ago, is the Tyndall farm's
original silo, overlooking the
huge Concrete parade square.
Through the efforts and strategy
of the first commander, W/C
Cocks, the silo was saved. He
worked out a set of plans which
resulted in a spiral stairway
built on its interior, leading up
to a look-out, while a framework

husband visited on Sunday with
the former's father, Rev. J. Ure

Miss Elaint Oke of Scarbor-
ough is .visiting this week at the
home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs, Orville Oke after spend-
ing the past eight weeks travel-
ling in Europe with her cousin,
Miss Patricia Gould of Ottawa.

her mother last week at the home

turned to TillSonburg after a
month's tour of Italy and Switzer-

concrete base - to commemorate
the establishment at Clinton of
the first radar training school
in North America. The long range
surveillance FPS 20 was' form • -
erly in operation across Canada
as part of the North American Air
Defence System. Said Adrian
Cocks, now a retired RAF Group
Captain from • his home in
Somerset, England, in a com-
munication to Clinton 'in 1969
when the antenna was, dedicated:
"If your radar antenna ever gets
on the air and goes searching, ask
it just one question 'Where have
they all gone?' "

shasta daisies was the setting for
a quiet but pretty wedding uniting
in marriage Norma Noreen
Grieve, only daughter of Mr.'and
Mrs. Charles N. Grieve, Ilderton,
to Kenneth James Reichert, only
son of Mr. and Mrs. Orland
Reichert, Hensall.
Rev. G. C. Johnson performed
the double ring ceremony, and
Mrs. George Graves was orga-
nist. Given in marriage by her
father the bride chose a street
length gown of snow white crepe
featuring an Empire waist and
ring neckline. These were ac-
cented with mauve lace, the sheer
sleeves having matching ap-
pliques on them. The back
featured a fall-in train. Her
headpiece consisted of small
white fabric rosettes. She carried
a nosegay of miniature yellow
roses and white daisies.
Mrs. Mary Walls, Denfield,
cousi n.,,plikePELd...p. was ffiatrom_
of honour. She wore an Empire
waist dress in shades of mauve;
she carried a nosegay of minia-
ture yellow roses and daisies,
with entwining mauve ribbon.
Michael Murphy, Ilderton, was
groomsman.
For the reception at the
Shillelagh Motel in Lucan, the
bride's mother was assisted by
the groom's mother in receiving
the guests. The couple's only
living grandparent, Mrs. Lavina
Reichert, was also present.
For travelling to Niagara
Falls and the Thousand Islands,
the bride changed to a bright
yellow hot pants ensemble, with
white accessories.
On their return the couple will
reside in Ilderton.
Hold ,Showers
Prior to tne wedding showers
were held in honour of the bride.
Mrs. Mary Walls, Mrs. Joyce
Murphy, Mrs. Joan Campbell,
and Miss Sarbara Stewart at
the St. George's Church Parish
Hall. 'A second shower was held
at the home of Harry Shipley by
the Shipley family. Vanneck
United Church women held a
si~oiaer fore her irr -the--ehurctris-
classroom, and Mrs. R. H. Cun-
ningham and MrS. Wm. Coyle
hosted a shower at Mrs. Cunning-
ham's home in London.
The bride's mother held an
open house in her daughter's
honour.
