Completes Successful Program

Highlight of the Dublin Play-
ground program this year was
the Carnival on Friday which
wound up four weeks of activi-
ties," , ,
The Carnival had a. fish pond,
apple bobbing, draws, quizzes,
dart games and other activities
to entertain the '35 children who
enrolled in July. The children,
between the ages of 4 - 12 were
engaged in playground activities
between 1 - 4 each'afternoon in
charge of competent leaders. The
head leader was Delaine
O'Rourke. Other ,leaders were:'
Dianne Brown, Mary Ann
O'Rourke, Marilyn Ryan, Mary
Frericks and Bobby Krauskopf.
The main feature of the
crafts programme was the con-
struction of a miniature stric-
ture of the Village of Dublin
out of cardboard boxes.
The four acre . tract of land
purchased by the Dublin Athletic'
Association in 1969k has under-
gone a great deal of changes. A
baSeball diamond has been made,
bleachers, swings, teeter-
totters, sandboxes and picnic
'tables have been set up: A
buildifig is under consfriiction
to house washrooms, 2 change
rooms, and a refreshment booth.
Baseball and soccor teams
have occupied the area almost
every evening throughout' the
summer,
To round .up the years ac-
tivities, a ball tournament will
be held on Sunday commencing at
11:a..m. - 7:00 p.m, with base-
ball and soccor games scheduled
to be played throughout the day.

A 'new diamond will be made
available for next season with a
new lighting system to accommo-
