The Seaforth Fire Department answered a call Thursday afternOon to the farm of Garrit
Burns U.C.W. met at the
home of Mrs. Ed. Bell on Wed-
nesday afternoon with fifteen
members present. Mrs. Bell
opened the meeting. Mrs. Rice
read the Scripturl and "Mirror
of the Soul".
Roll. call was answered by a
Bible verse. The treasurer's
report was given by Miss Jean
Leiper. A thank you card was
received from Betty Salverda.
The next meeting will be held at
the home of Mrs. George Smith.

London, was the setting for the
marriage of Merrilee Sharon
Harvey of 'Waterloo (formerly
Morpeth), daughter of Mr. and
• Mrs. William Harvey of Morpeth
to Christopher Cleave Coombs,
Waterloo (formerly Seaforth),
son of Mr. and Mrs. Cleave
Coombs, Seaforth, which took
place on July 17th at 7:00 p.m.
with Rev. Cecil 14. Jardine per-
forming the double-ring
ceremony.
The bride's lather, in a tra-
ditional dark .suit and pink laou-•
tonniere' escorted his daughter
down the white carpeted aisle
to the altar • She wore a floor-
length wedding gown of crystal
peau, A-line , with full sleeves
• caught at the wrist with a wide
cuff. Her dress, floor-length
veil and head piece were trimmed
with Swiss guipure, lace. A de-
tachable chapel-length train
flowed from the Empire waist-
line. She carried ba,by white
mums, pink sweetheart roses and
pink baby's breath. Her only M
adornment was the groom's gift
of a cultured pearl.
Miss Janet Harvey, •Chatham,
was the maid of honor, and the
bridesmaids were Miss Pam
Grey, Morpeth, Miss Michelle
Poulin,London and Miss Patricia

drassed alike in floor-length
npire dresses with pirikohiffon
dice and navy crepe A-line
s krt. The full sele-thre sleeves
w re caught at the wrist by a
wide cuff. They carried wicker
baskets with, baby White mums,
pink carnations and pink baby's
breath With ribbon streamers.
Miss Melanie Poulin was the
flower girl and was dressed' in
a floor-length gown of pink chiffon
and carried a basket of flowers
identical to the bridesmaid's.
Master Patrick Poulin was the
ringbearer dressed in a white
• suit With short pants, pink tie and
pink-boutonniere,

A large crowd' was at the
Walton Commdnity hall, Friday
and Mis. Brian Campbell, newly-
evening, July 30th to honour Mr.
weds of the community. The"
evening was spent dancing to the
music of the Tru Tones. Prior
to lunch Brian and Carol were
called to the platform. Bob
Harris read the address and
George Pethick presented the
young couple with a purse of
money on behalf, of the friends
neighbours and relatives. Brian
and Carol thanked. all present
for the gift and the evening plan-
ned in their honor. The "Silver
Strings" (children's orchestra)
also played for half an hour of
dancing which' was enjoyed by
everyone prpSeht.

Linda Godkin played the violin
for Susan Langlols, Brussels, in
a Stepping Competition held at
Cookstown at the Steam Engine
ShoW on Saturday. Linda also
step danced and both girls placed
second. ' •

in a floor-length navy blue and
white gown with corsage of Pink(
-sweetheart roses. The bride's
step-mother - wore a navy Jess •
with white accessoriesAnd cor-
sage of .pink carnations and the
groom's mother was dressed in
an American Beauty ensemble
with matching accessories and
corsage of white gardenias.
For the wedding trip
to Niagara Falls, the bride
travelled in a red and white
hot pants dress with white ac-
cessories.
The couple will reside •at
344 Regina St. N., Apt. 5,
Waterloo, Ontario. ,
Guests were present from
Chatham, Morpeth, Windsor,
Kitchener, Thamesville, Wards-
ville, Clinton and Ridgetown.
The couple received a tele-
gram from Mr. and Mrs. Ronald
I. Jones, England, aunt and uncle
of the groom.
"After the ceremony the bride
was . presented 'with a Scottish
Good Luck Horse Shoe from
Scotland and a Good Luck Silver
Slipper Charm from a cousin
of the bride in England. '
Prior to her marriage, the
bride was given. shOwers by the

er by Mrs. Frank Poulin and
Mrs. Lyall Trenholm, London;
Mrs. Tom Young, Seaforth; the
residence girls at Y.W.C.A.,
Waterloo; a community shower,
Egmondville, the hostess being
Mrs. William McLean and a per-
sonal shower-by. Mrs. Don-Berr-
nett of Chatham.

silver accessories. • She wore
baby roses in her hair and a
corsage of pink roses. 'She was
assisted by the gioom',s mother
dressed in a lilac flowered chiffon
dress and coat ensemble with
mauve accessories. Mauve dais-
ies were in her' hair and she
wore a corsage of yellow roses.
For the wedding trip to
Northern , Ontario, the bride
travelled in a coral' hot pants
dress with white accessories and
a corsage of pink and white roses.
Guests were present from
London, Goderich, Varna,
Holland, Seaforth, Hanover,
Walkerton and Exeter.
The couple will reside in
Seaforth.
Prior to her marriage, the
bride was honoured at showers

the fall 4-H project, .''Dairy
Fare" will now •be held in the
Legion Hall, Seriforth, on August
23rd and 24th, rather than in
Clinton as previously announced.

The marriage of Mary
Christine Lansink, daughter of
Mr. and Mrp. John H. Lansink,
Seaforth, to Larry glen McLean,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ken McLean,
Hensall, took place in St. James
Roman Catholic Church, Seaforth
on July 24th at '3:30 p.m. with
Rev. Father H. J. Laragh b eing
the celebrant of the High Mass.
The church was decorated with
candelabra and a mixed bouquet
of roses, carnations,-baby--mums
with white streamers.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a long
white gown of peau de sole with
Empire waist trimmed with lace,
long sleeves and a long white train
which fell from the waist trimmed
with the same lace. Her short
veil was held with a pearl and lace
headpiece and she carried a
bouquet of roses, carnations and
baby mums.
Mrs. Ray (Rose) Horan,
.R.R.#1, Dublin, sister of the
bride, was the matron of hOnor
and the bridesmaids were Mrs.
Bill (Dianne) Beuerman, R.R#1,
Dublin, sister of the bride, Miss
Gwen McLean, Hensall, sister of
the groom and Miss Bonnie Mc-
Gee, London. Miss Shawne
Wilkinson, London and Miss Judy
Gallow, Goderich, niece of the
bride, were the flower girls. They

with panel of ruffles down the
front and around the neck with
long sleeves trimmed with blue
satin button-on ruffles. The
dresses were made by the bride's
mother.
