and visjted the Ontario Science centre at Dop Mills. Mr.
Ray 10Kinnon spent a few days here making plans to move
back to Zurich. He has resigned from the Bank Of Montreal
and, will be associated with Zurich Wood Pkoducts.
From the Lucknow Sentinel we note that several
repregentatives prom the town of Wiarton were in Lucknow
recently viewing the arena, the recent addition and re-
strengthening program which was completed on the build-
ing.
A report of engineers has indicated thatehe Wiarton arena

wind velocity. A report and recommendations will be
presented to the Wiarton Council. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Breckles quietly observed their 55th wedding anniversary
recently. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gardner marked their 58th
wedding anniversary on Friday. •
The Clinton News-Record in the Bayfield news items
relates that Bayfield council will soon be losing one of
its members, Rev. Donald Beck, whenhe moves to Hensall.
The new member of council will be Mr. Ted Gozzard.
Clinton is nicely decorated this week with flowerpots on all
the lamp-posts. They add great deal of beauty to the
town. 'The town and merchants should be congratulated on
the completion of this project. The Auburn Explorers,

the pool and abuse of the facilities. The committee want
the disturbers caught 'and the Ontario Proyincial Police

From the Milverton Suri we note -that Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Ward observed their 59th wedding anniversary. •The
first property holder in what is now Milverton was Joseph
Hamilton. He had a farm of 100 acres bounded on the 'south
by the present Mill Street West and on the east by Main
Street North. In, 1848 Joseph Hamilton sold' his farm to
Andrew West, a native of New York State. The price paid
was a pair of boots. According- to the Milverton Sun of
February 16, 1899. -In the Post Office conversation, it
drifted to the price -of land in the village. "Well," said
Mr. Richard Udmilton, "I have seen land sold for all
prices. My brother Joseph sold that whole"farni (point-
ing across the road to where Messrs. Pfaff and Guenther's
blocks stand) to Andrew West for a pair of long boots."
.The Exeter Times-Advocate reports that vandalism is
rampant in the area. The OPP are investigating etaireber
of incidents including removal of four, Yneil boees..on

Days in Dashwood over the next week end has brought
forth a challenge match in sauerkraut eating between
Dashwood and Zurich. (Incidentally, Friedsburg was the

" It hardly seems possible that
ten years have elapsed since you
commenced your ministry at
Cavan Church, Winthrop. For-

when the former McKillop charge
was being re-organized, we had
you, M r. Britton, to advise and
assist in 'making the necessary
changes with a minimum of in-
convenience to all parties con-
cerned.
At a time when most people
are looking for lighter respon-
sibilities it meant an added load
for you in ministering to our
needs. We imagine some of those

Mr. Britton will be remem-

that you came out of a solid rural
background anti served the
Church during the difficult
