Harness Horsemen's Association's Stake Race dates have been announced. The first two races will be run in July at Dresden and Oshawa, with the third race ran in Clinton, Sun- day,. August 8. Of the 143 eligible horses, five are from the Clinton area: Jennie°, - C. Bartliff/Frank Mac- Donald; Timely Marge - Mr. and Mrs. Jack Holmes; Topic Time - G. R. “Punch" McEwan; Crimson Babe - Bruce and 'Grant Volland and Sunicrest Irene - Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Pullman, Seaforth. Purses on these races will be $2,000. „„ . The Federal Government Racing Coiftmission has in- structed the "B" tracks to meet certain standards or be dropped from the circuit. At first glance their standards seem to add un- needed expenses, but in the long run the race fans will benefit by the better facilities. Fortunately, last year the Kinsmen Raceway Committee followed the layout desired by Mr. Pratt and this year the required changes " are minimal. Some of the changes racing fans will see will be the electric tote board and newfenc- ing in front of the bleacher area. The flow of traffic around the mutual building will be helped this year with the removal of the fence which went along the paved area.
