Baker, Public Relations Officer, Branch 156 March 17 - The Legion House League Pee Wee's continued to hold their own against the Ades- tral Park PeeWees in agame last Wednesday which resulted in a 4-all tie. Players for theSeaforth team were drawn from the stud- ents at the Seaforth Public School. Goal scorers for Seaforth were Cameron Dolg, Steven Bennett, Ed Malkus and Nick Hauwert. March 19 - The SEBEES won the Legion League Bowling Playoffs. The team consists of Gordon Scott, Jack Eisler, Edna Bell, Joan Eaton, Bill Eisler and Marg Seale. It is interesting to note how the name "SEBEES" orig- inated. The first letter in the surname of each of the team members was used, I.e. Scott, Eisler, Bell; Eaton, Eisler and Sraale. After the Bowling, the contestants were served hifich at the Legion Hall by the Ladies'. March 19 - On Friday evening, Bingo as usual, with 69 partic- -ipating. . March 20 - At the Saturday morning HOckey, there 'was a full, attendance of young hockey players and in spite of the fact that it was the last hockey of the season there was no let up-in the keennd'ss with which the boys played. March 20, - Last Saturday was Hockey Award Night at the Sea- forth Arena. At 6:30 p.m. the Mites played Whites vs Blues, and although the little fellows were tired 'they gave. a good account of themselves; the final score was Whites 3, Blues 2. The Gus Boussey Trophy was Presented to the winning team by Legion Sports Officer, Don Wood. In the individual, presentations, Bill McIver and Brian McCowan received 'trophies for being the most valuable players for the Mites. The next game was played by the Novices, Yellows vs Blues. After a hard and entertaining game, the final result was Yel- lows 3, Blues 1. Ray Henderson presented the Burt Shaw Trophy to the winning team and individ- ual trophies to the most valuable players for the Novices, Earl Ribey and Danny Deloyer.' The PeeWeet then took to the ice — the Doston Bruins vs New York Rangers. After an action- filled- game the Bruins emerged victorious, with goaltender Glen Stewart being one - of the stars by his shut-out. The final score was Bruins 7, Rangers 0. Bill Dalrymple presented the Jack Eisler Trophy to the winning team, and also individual trophies to the most valuable player, Bill McCreight and 'to the most im- proved player, Ed Malkus for the Bruins. Individual trophies were also presented toGordonGeddes, the most valuable goaltender and to Glen Stewart, the most improved goaltender. Trophies were presented to members of the peeWee Ranger Team, to Kevin Shea as the_naast_ valuable player and Herman Kiaver, the most improved play- er. . On the PeeWee Toronto Team, trophies were awarded to Ben McQuaid as the most valuable player and to Jim Learn as the, moSt improved player. Award's. to the Pee Wee Mon- treal Team included - for ,the most valuable player Ken Bruxer, a trophy, and to the most im- proved player, Jim Reyndh, a trophy. The last game was played by the Bantams, Reds vs Blues. • After a fast moving game the ' Reds triumphed over the Blues 6 to 1. Bill Eisler made the presentation of 'the Firemen's Trophy to the' winning team and also individual trophies to Brian Murray, the most Valuable player, to _RAM ArtS1b07-0304ft improved player, ancl to Lewis Devereaux the most valuable goaltender. Officer, presented to the four refereee, Roger BenneWlee, gomery, John Coleman andRandY Wood a small token of apprec- iation for their work with 'the boys all through the hockey sea- son. A vote of thankaalso goes to all those who have emceed and managed the hobkey teams and have kept everything running smoothly throughout the season; also to those who have donated trophies which always adds to the competitive spirit of sports. This is surely a most worthwhile pro- ject 'the building of healthy bodies and minds in the young boys through sports. .
