ing area. Mr. and Mrs. Roney
received congratulatory mes-
sages from Prime Minister
Pierre E. Trudeau, Premier Wm.
Davis and Hugh Edighoffer,
MPP as well as individual gifts,
potted plants, flowers and cards.
The couple were married at
the home of the bride's parents,
the late Mr. and Mrs. John Moore
of Dublin on March 1,1916 and have
farmed on the Roney Centennial
farm ever Since. They have six
children, Ethel, Mrs. Bert Ma-
haffy of Staffa; Edith, Mrs, John
Bell, Seaforth; Hazel, Mrs. Ray-N
Hauras, Stratford; Earl and
Robert. Dublin and Franklin.
Staffa also 18 grandchildren.

OBITUARY
WILLIAM J. NICI-KASON
William, J. Nicholson, 76, of
Seaforth, died Friday at the Sea-
forth Community Hospital where
he had been a patient for two
weeks.
Born in McKillop Township,
he w,as a son. of the late Joseph
Nicholson, and his wife, the
former Catherine Johnston.
He was educated In McKillop
schools and farmed for many
years In this area. In later
years he was employed as a
carpenter. He had been a res-
ident of Seaforth since 1955. He,
was a veteran of World War One.
He • was unmarried and the
last surviving- member of his
immediate faintly: 'Surviving are
four nieces, Mrs.. Roy (Kathleen)
Williamson, Walton; Mrs. George
(Grace) Pethick, Winthrop; Mrs.
Lyle (Marjorie) Racho, Seaforth;
Mrs. Gilbert (Lorraine) Hubert,
Ottawa.
The body was at the R, S.
Box funeral home, *here the
funeral service conducted by Rev.
Bruce Morrisdn was held at 2
p.m. Monday. Burial followed in
Brussels cemetery.

hour was spent. The lunch com-
mittee of the Catholic Women's
League, under the convenership
of Mrs. Dominic Murray, served
to lunch.
Karen Marie Murphy was bap-
tized during mass on Sunday. The
godparents were Miss Cather-
ine Moylan, St. Thomas, and
Joe Murphy, Seaforth. Karen is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Murphy, R.R. 4, Seaforth.

The school, like many others in
the area has lost a record amount
of time this winter due to the
several storms the area has
experienced.
The annual St. Patrick's Day
concert, presented by pupils in
the past, has been a popular
Ste Patrick's Day in Dublin
No special events have been
planned to mark St. Patrick's
Day for% Dublin School children.
"We are still trying to make
up for lost time. Maybe another
year we will have a concert",

1878 in honour of the birthplace
of Joseph Kidd, an enterprising
Irish immigrant who founded
