prizes sponsored by the Dublin Girls Softball Team. Above,

held Friday evening by the Brod-
hagen Chamber of Commerce
members at the Community Hall.
The Lutheran Church Women
served a delicious hot malt beef
dinner and during dinner Mrs.
Lorne Mueller supplied dinner

Welcomed the guests. Edgar
Elligsert extended a toast to the
ladies and at this time each
woman was presented with a
cruet set. in appreciation for
their most faithful and helpful
Work throughout the year. Mrs.
George Jarmuth replied and
proposed a toast to the men.
Harry Muegge presented Past
President Frank Murray with a
plaque for a job well done during
the year 1970. Mr. Murray ex-

the year a success.

Mrs. Mae Habkirk on Tuesday

A native of Seaforth, Ontario,
he was a son of the late Mr, and
Mrs. James Hays. He served
briefly in the Royal Flying Corps
in the First World War. A
graduate of the University of
Toronto, he practised dentistry in
, Fort Erie, Ontario, for some
forty years, -until his retirement
in Victoria in 1963. He had
served for a number of years as,
'a member of the International
Peace Bridge Commission and as
president Of the Fort Erie. Con-

With prqper 'care and constant
use, wooden salad bowls will be-
come beautiful as' time goes on.
As•Wood is porous, it absorbs
oil, odors and particles of food,
For this reason, a new salad bowl
b should be seasoned unless It hal
a special finish which makes this
unnecessary. Season the wood
by rubbing it with mineral or
sweet oil. As the bowl is Used,
salad oils will continue the
process.
After each use, a Wooden
salad bowl should be washed in
warm water, rinsed in cool, and
dried thoroughly. Woodenware
should never be allowed to soak
or left standing with liquid in it.
Stains and food particles can
usually be removed with a brush
#, dipped in. suds.
Occasionally, a wooden
bowl may, require special clean-
ing to. remove any sticky build-
up of fat from dressings. De-
natured alcohol will soften and
dissolve this fat. If the buildup
