Bert Lawrence, minister of financial and commercial affairs, and Mrs. Lawrence, were in Goderich on Saturday as part of the provincial cabinet minister's campaign for the leadership of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party. Miss Scott received her award for 48 years of service as a•Sunday'SchOol 'teacher while Mr. McKellar served for 35 years as Church School Superintendent. Each received a Bible and a certificate. W. executive met in the basement of Duff's United Church on Wednesday afternoon with nine ladies present. • M rs. Plans were made for the' World Day of Prayer to be held on March 5 with service in Walton Church with all de- nominations of the community cordially invited to attend. The Huron-Perth Presby- terial annual meeting will be held at Mitchell UnitedChurch on Tentative dates set for the Easter Thankoffering are Sunday, April 18 or 25. The next executive meeting will be *held on the first Wednesday tri April. There will not be another general meeting of the U.C.W, till May; when there will be a supper meeting with all units attending. Misses Mary Bewley and Helen Searle, of London spent the week end at the home of their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Mills, Scott, David and Cathy of Brantford spent .the week ,end with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mills. The Walton Public bibrary will be closed Tuesday, February -16 and 23 and March 2 but will be open every Saturday from '2 to 4 P.M. Mrs. Fred Dunk arrived home last week from Girnly, Manitoba. where she spent a few weeks with her son and dadghter- in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dunk and family. Congratulations to Liss June Williamson who was successful in receiving her ,lst class honors in Grade 11 Theory which was held recently in Stratford, she also passed her Grade 7 music with honors. We will be looking forward to hearing about firm plans for such an event. Next Thursday eyening February I 1th we expect to see a large turn-out for the General Meeting.
