On numerous oCcasions, without-the help of snowrnobilere, what could have been a tragedy turned out to be a case of hardship only. I have been told, and I was convinced. before this emergency, that a police force is only as good as the co-operation it re- ceives from the public. The co-operation we received and were offered Is just another case to back up this belief. Could be that when every- thing is back to normal we will- hear criticism of something we faileeto do or the manner in which it was handled, but this letter was originally written with a pencil which had an eraser on the end of it, because people de) make mistakes. Granted, the less mistakes made the betten, but if we learn by our mistakes, progress is being made. Prov, Const. H.A.T1GHE,#4196,, Public Information Co-Ordinator No. 6 District. ,. These are just a few of the kind words that we overheard during the recent snow storm which hit mid-western and south-western. 'Ontario, Prior to the storm I also heard remarks like, ',Ban the darn things" or "They are just a status symbol", and "A few people are making money at our expense." I think you will agree these are a far cry from the remarks made during the storm. We don't intend to take sides becanse we are involved in en- forcing the laws which the people have lade. It, is not a police officer's right to decide whether a law is good or bad. It is his job to protect the lives and prop- erty of the public, to enforce the laws made by the people and to, apprehend the alleged offenders and have them summoned to Court, where the Courts will decide, only after all the evidence is heard, if the alleged offender CANDLELITE RESTAURANT and TAVERN — FORMERLY PIZZA PATIO TAVERN — FRIDAY and Saturday Desjardine Orchestra CANDLELITE RESTAURANT and TAVERN, BAYFiELD ROAD IN GODERIC.H,„- e S24-77.11----- INTER RNIVA SUNDAY FEB. 8-1 SU 6ThI 01 'i3rilefs.
