Reindeer have to keep busy
throughout the year. Thankfully,
they have reindeer games to help
them with that. Mrs. Stanley’s Grade
1 class at Hullett Central Public
School helped The Citizen with
trying to figure out just what those
games are.
“I think they play tag and like it
because they are friends and friends
like to play tag. They are friends
because they all work together to
help Santa.”
Carter Howson
“Reindeer play games like hide
and seek because they are good at it.
They like it because they are good at
it and they have fun.”
Chanel Riley
“I bet that reindeer play tag. It
helps them get ready to pull Santa’s
sleigh because it’s healthy and they
like it because it’s fun. We’re
supposed to run and play at recess
because it’s fun and good for us so
they probably do the same thing.”
Cole Mason
“Reindeer play reindeer tag where
they have to slam their horns
together to tag each other instead of
using their hands. Moose do the
same thing when they play games.”
Dylan Kreuger
“I think that reindeer are too busy,
because they have to work hard all
the time. They don’t get to play
games. They have to exercise all day
long and sleep all night to make sure
that they can fly the sleigh on
Christmas Eve.”
Jamal Hendricks
“The reindeer play on the ice at
the North Pole. They skate so they
can go faster but they aren’t allowed
to fly, because that wouldn’t be fair,
because they have to learn how to
skate. It helps them when they have
nothing to do.”
Jazmin O’Handley
“Reindeer always play musical
chairs, but only to Christmas music.
They do it outside so they get fresh
air and lots of energy so they can
keep playing.”
Leah Boven
“I think they play tag because it’s
fun. It gives the reindeer exercise
because Santa is big and they need a
lot of energy to pull him.”
Loralei Gross
“The reindeer like to play
Candyland like I do at home. They
might like candy like I do, so they
play that like I do.”
Molly Bolinger
“I bet they play tag because they
have four legs and that makes them
run very fast plus they can fly so it’s
more fun that way. They play tag and
freeze tag and hide and seek.”
Myah Bos
“I think they slide on pillows to
have fun then they play pillow tag by
sliding on the pillows because of all
the ice they have. They have to run
into one other to tag each other.”
Pat Mahon
“The reindeer play tag because
they like to run and it helps with
them exercise to pull Santa’s sleigh.
It takes a lot muscles to fly all over
the world.”
Rachel Wilts
“I think that reindeer play soccer.
They only have legs so they couldn’t
get a hand ball. They would play
hockey, but they can’t hold on to a
stick, so they play soccer.”
Tysen Greidanus
“I bet they play the game Guess
Who? because it’s a two-person
game. I play it with my mom so the
reindeer probably play it just like I
would if I were there.”

reindeer play. They also like playing
games with dirt bikes.”
Donny Miller
“I think the reindeer like to run
around in circles because they are
reindeer and that’s all they know
how to do. They aren’t smart like
dogs. All they know how to do is run
around in circles together.”
Makenzie Smith
“I think that the reindeer like to
play dodgeball because they run
fast. That’s why Rudolph can run
the fastest because all the reindeer
hate him and try to hit him with
balls. He isn’t fun.”
Cameron Whitson
‘Reindeer tag’ a favourite among reindeer: students
You know, the classics
Reindeer are pretty active at the North Pole according to the Grade 1 class at Hullett Central
Public School. The class helped The Citizen figure out just what reindeer games are referred
to in the Christmas classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer just in time for Christmas this
year. Back row, from left: Cole Mason, Carter Howson, Myah Bos and Cheyenne Lennox-
