In Auburn this past week it was no exception when Huron Chapel held its Sunday school Christmas pageant. It all began with the classic church potluck supper in the gymnasium, however, I did notice there were shrimp and pizza in the offering, thus perhaps exceeding the label of “classic”. The church sanctuary was full as each Sunday school class from the youngest preschoolers to the teenagers in the youth class participated in presenting their message of what Christmas meant to them. At the end of the service the youth handed out bags of candy to each person as they left. I was fortunate enough to talk to The Citizen reporter Denny Scott about my family Christmas recently. The story can be found on page 23.
