Students at Hullett Central Public School hoping to flex their imaginary-culinary muscles have just such an outdoor kitchen and have been enjoying the unseasonable weather at recess because it allows them to make whatever they want, provided it’s brown. (Denny Scott photos) G2G fundraising effort starts off big Continued from page 1 however, that the timing of the announcement is great, just as G2G Inc. is about to launch its crowd- funding campaign early next year. “The goal is to have [the trail] ready for the [2017 International Plowing Match in Walton] and for Canada’s 150th and this certainly makes that much more tangible,” Lee said. He said that the approval of funding for the trail also makes those behind the trail feel a bit better because it can sometimes feel as though they’re working in a bubble. It’s nice, he said, to see that the province is behind the trail and what G2G Inc. is doing. Work that will go into the trail will likely entail grading and preparing the trail and making it accessible from Goderich all the way to Guelph. He said there will still have to be some portions of the trail that are passed around, including the Maitland River and in Wallenstein to name a few, but the goal of providing a community-to- community trail experience by 2017 remains very attainable, especially with this funding announcement. The group is now busy building its membership and securing stewardship agreements with service clubs and other entities along the trail. G2G Inc. held is annual general membership meeting on Monday night in Milverton and feelings were very positive, he said, with the funding announcement.
